Gaze of Sithis: RNG gear lockout

So the best item, gaze of sithis, is locked behind the dark brotherhood content and you have to go through 20 hour refresh on an RNG for the lead you need. Basically, a Destiny 1 rng gear lock out. Am I wrong?

Also it’s RNG. I got the lead the first day on my first toon. If you want more chances per day then create more characters and take them through the dark brotherhood quest line.

Adding characters takes time yes BUT you increase efficiency of getting things immensely. 1 chance at a motif daily per day versus 18 potential chances. 1 random dungeon XP bonus versus potentially 18.

If you only play a single character that’s a personal hang up you’ll have to get over in order capitalize properly.

Yup, not even close to being the best item. Good in PvP for some builds but pretty much useless for PvE.

It seems to be perceived by many to be 'bestest' however it's really not the best. In fact, I have said before this is something we really don't need anyways.

The best mythic is probably Ring of Pale Order or Wild Hunt Ring. GoS is nice however there are things about it I don't like. The fact that it's a Heavy Armor Piece goes against my build format. Divines Trait is alright however that fat health recovery bonus is getting cut in half for PvP and is virtually non-existent for Vampires, depending on level. Furthermore there are other 2pc sets in game that function similar to this, Mighty Chudan for example, which many of us worked hard to get and has always been if nothing else reliable.

That said, I have also had RNG issues getting the lead. If you received the lead from the DB supplier right away, that's good and I'm glad for you. However it doesn't always work like that for everyone and so I can relate to people's frustration.

Another thing, I do think them putting this item behind the DB Questline was a great idea. Because lore wise this thing is so evil that people outside certain circles would never even know it existed or what it was for. Templars and Warden probably wouldn't wear something like this.

So be thankful the Devs put a little more creativity into their product and we have a reward that is a little more earned than getting handed out to everyone who logged in like free lemonade at a Soccer match. Or free 'punch' handed out at a college sorority's after party ha-ha.

It works fine for solo PVE builds.

Oh come on it sells a new chapter and ESO plus or multiple dlc chapters.

Takes about 45 minutes or so to set up a toon for level 4 dark brotherhood, than it's just parking them in Vivec. Which is also a pretty good spot for writs.
    Definitely not ideal tho.

I got really lucky, since I only have DB leveled to 4 on one toon...second try I got the lead. But I agree, this is a horrible way to obtain a lead.

Im commenting on the fact that its a 20 hour refresh and yeah you would have to have db levels on multiple toons which not a lot of people do. Also it is a really good piece. Yeah i pvp more than i pve, but its seems like a good solo piece and definitely one of the only gear pieces worth buying the chapter for. I should have been more specific about the point of my post. Not to argue the worth of the item but more about how stupid the lead drop is for the db content.

It's not the best item. Not even close. People just lose their minds over anything remotely defensive on this game because they worry it might hinder their ability to burst everyone instantly to death in PvP and ruin their fun. So any claims of god-like powers related to something defensive that can be used in PvP I would ignore. Because there is a real conspiracy on this forum to get anything defensive nerfed by exaggerating and providing false claims that it makes players invincible.

Unless you are playing a health regen build, it's barely even worth using if you ask me.

This ^ …. It works for solo builds and not much else. I use it for solo and it replaces the Ring of the Pale Order. I don’t deal enough damage for the heals to justify wearing it. Works great for tanky overland questing and world bosses.

Right. However just remember you don't need it to reach Mitigation Cap and there are always other options which protects and allows you to block too.

So, when the sticker book came out, I got into the habit of talking to Remains-Silent every day for the Sithis pieces.

Even when I completed it, I keep talking to her, because a girl can't have too many sacrificial hearts.

I got the lead the first day it came out, and I didn't even know about it.

And I only have one character that can talk to her.

So I don't think this is going to be a terrible grind.

How is Strategic Reserve active in BG's if CP is disabled in BG's?

I actually picked up the lead today, took like 12 or 13 tries but anyways. That said I visit the supplier frequently for the complementary alchemical ingredients.

Seriously, this may be a good piece but it’s hardly essential. So what if it takes a week or two? Plenty of other mythics and monster sets that will do the job in the meantime both for pvp and pve. There’s nothing that I have seen that dictates every new item must be available to every player immediately upon every update. It’s okay to have to work for something
