Strong arm robbery

Apparently some players are ganking other players via trade and their is no way to get what was stolen from you. I asked a Mod about this over a week ago and still have not gotten a response, so im thinking this is ok to do to players in ESO. I dont participate in trade unless i know you in game fairly well as far as we have done stuff together and communicated on a social level. I trust no one when it comes to my gold. But some are eager as buying and selling crowns with gold is a lucrative business but at the same time its risky asf due to players that want to take your money for a laugh. I have a friend who gave up 1 million gold for some Crowns to switch to another faction and got screwed over by another player and he was told, "that you should've picked your faction better and you have no right to change factions", so for someone to do that to another player for a laugh and apparently get away with it is cold-blooded. So be careful out here in Tamriel, you cant trust anyone until proven otherwise.

I mean... this is a pretty well-known fact?

There are some "trusted" sources where you can buy crowns for gold (and even then it can be risky), but doing so in zone chat with someone you don't know is extremely risky, and unless you have proof of it occurring, it's very difficult for ZoS to do anything about it.

LOL, at "I asked a Mod about this over a week ago and still have not gotten a response, so I'm thinking this is ok to do to players in ESO."

Silence =/= permission. There's been a number of exploiters who thought so too, up until ZOS finally took action on their accounts.

ZOS talked about this way, way back when Gifting was first introduced. Basically, trading gold for gifts is allowed but is very much "at your own risk" so to speak, but if you have records of the deal and report the scam to Support, they may refund your gold. Usually they say they'll only do it once. They strongly suggested that you make the deal in-game i.e. so Support can check chat logs rather than dealing with unsourced Discord screenshots or something like that.

ZOS doesn't particularly like scammers, but their privacy surrounding disciplinary actions is such that you'll never know what happened to the scammer.

Reports like that really should be put on a higher priority then it currently has.

If you have screenshots of the whole transaction and everything said within the eso client(cause they can confirm it with the logs). They ususally do something.I had to do it twice and got my gold back in a few days and other person was banned atleast temporarily. You just have to respond to the email they send when you file report,or they think it was resolved without them.

Im starting to notice alot of misdeeds associated with this game but then again this is a business and treatment is not always gonna be fair, no matter how they word it. I just didnt realize how flagrant this occurrence has been happening. the trust is slowly losing its luster...thanks for the advice from everyone that participated.

Can a mod close this thread, thanks.
