Blackwood fishing was brutal - And you?

I am wondering if I have just had terrible RNG of if Blackwood is just not the fisherman's paradise. After 7 hours of fishing, having taken the CP slotables & consumed the Artaeum Pickled Fish, I am still looking for one last blue river fish. It took about 4 hours to get all the others but that last blue fish eludes me. To add insult to injury I did not get one single Perfect Roe. Booo!

So the fishermen & women among you... how was your experience?

Haha^^ I haven't started that yet so I cannot testify, but a little sympathy here cannot hurt, all Master Anglers here will understand what you've been through ! :-)

Apparently people have gotten the achievement for Blackwood already on the Live servers, so it is certainly possible. RNG sucks. Right?

One of my guild mates linked there achievement in guild chat I think the second day after launch.

open a ticket it must be u just getting bad RNG. I suggest trying after a week or two usually when a patch come out like a major expansion takes a while for everything to work out it bugs and RNG problems.

I've gotten a bunch of green fish already, not sure about blue. And I got perfect roe twice from the same hole!

I'm half done from 1 to 2 hours using just the improved catch quality cp. I was with a couple friends though. Not bad timewise.

I don't think this is limited to Blackwood... It took me 4 nights of fishing with all appropriate CP and the Artaeum pickled fish to get the blue lake fish in Stonefalls. It was quite frustrating.

My bet is just bad RNG, unfortunately...

Ah at last. Dropped the lure into the water tonight and was rewarded about 3 minutes later with that pesky fish.

Never did get any perfect roe but am mightily happy to have that achievement tucked away.

I have one blue left to go but so far this has been easy compared to some zones. All four types of water so none of that two blue river fish nonsense and all types are plentiful. I've just been fishing as I come across a hole on my way to a quest or something for the most part.

With the stated bonuses, a base zone takes me 2h (give or take) to complete. Idk if DLC zones differ, I presume it shouldn't deviate much for that. 7h sounds a little long. Have you tried fishing in a group?

No I was fishing on my own. My main fishing pal doesn't want to start Blackwood until he has completed previous zone {rolls eyes} I know there are benefits to fishing with a friend but had hoped the CP slottable would have taken care of that. Maybe it doesn't really.
