Come on zen. enough is enough.
Every time there is an event or a dlc release we lag like crazy. This one I go from 200ms to 600ms.
You guys made millions of everyone.
You don't have any excuse all these years later.
Get your act together.

You may want to mention in which region you live. For me personally my connection is the same as it was before to the EU-PC server.

but this is normal in every game tbh. update hits and server heats up like its the damn surface of the sun. in some games in this situation they make waiting lines with players

I haven't lagged at all, and I'm using a laptop built 4 years ago... Are you sure your graphics card and CPU aren't the problem?

For me it genuinely feels like performance has improved, particularly load times.

Oceanic servers would be nice (like most other AAA mmos); you could even get in on that Asian dollar $$$; maybe Microsoft will step in and be like... hey there is this landmass to the East that’s inhabited by human beings... I’m playing on US but logging in from Japan and I’ve found a way to exist with 200+ ms every day since launch.

Lag and low fps aren't the same thing. You can run ESO on a 20k gaming rig and you will suffer the same lag related problems as everyone else.

The problem isn't on their end, if it was then everyone would be affected by lag when there is an event or a dlc. This is an issue with your internet or setup. Personally, like others that have posted, I never have any lag on this game, which kind of proves the point.

This level of performance is not normal in any game except ESO.

These things are measurable and easily documented. So when someone says something that is exactly opposite of years of documented evidence it really stands out.

It matters what content you're doing. Trials and pvp will probably have bigger issues than solo stuff.

I'm sorry, but lag is a pervasive issue that affects every part of the endgame community. Unless you are spending your time exclusively doing quests, getting fishing achievements and roleplaying in Vulkhel Guard, you have definitely experienced lag.
And suggesting that it's a problem on our side is hilarious, when ZOS themselves have decided to gut gameplay in order to combat the issue (talking about the unsuccessful AoE & crosshealing tests and the group size decrease) .

No sorry, it always blame the developers, and the game. Its the ISP and whatever system u are on, and what specs your computer has if u are on a computer playing this game or whatever game. Now although I said that yes the game can have lag ,but if there was major lag a lot of people be complaining about it, and the developers being saying they need to take the servers down to fix, and that not happening.

I've noticed from past forum discussions and zone chat in Cyrodiil (PC/NA/GH) that while a lot of individuals experience lag, it may not be 100% of players. However, I experience pretty severe lag in Cyrodiil. On a good day it's manageable, on a bad day it's not what I would call playable (skills won't work, animations stop halfway, sliding around while still stunned, 20 seconds of damage hits all at once, etc). My FPS don't drop much but the game becomes much less responsive.

I don't have these issues with other MMOs which I am able to run smoothly on higher settings.

This may be a dumb question, but is there a way to test my internet connection to determine if it is in fact my isp? I ran a speed test from my PC and I have (based on 3 tests) 86-98Mbps DL, 10Mbps UL and 25-28 ms Ping. My PC is connected with CAT 6 cable.
PC Specs: R7 2700x, GTX 1070, 32 GB RAM, game is installed on 500gb SSD.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Do not do a speed test from your ISP u need to use a VPN to do a speed test because, ISP speed test will be lying, and u be seeing what they want u to see.

Lag from the ESO server is determined by doing a traceroute, not by doing a speedtest. Speedtest only tests from your home to your ISP, more or less, depending. Traceroute will tell you the lag at every node between you and the server you are connecting to. There might be 3 nodes used in a speedtest. There will be 2-5x that many nodes between you and the ESO server. Lag can come from any node. Years of testing this have proven the lag comes primarily from the ESO servers. The lag is between the ESO server and it's closest node virtually every time. There are additional ways to measure more than just ping to the server too. The lag between the eso server and it's closest node skyrockets under load.

We know what is causing the lag. It's not the individuals ISP or rig except in the rarest of instances. We have the ability to test these things and know for sure one way or another.
