PvE DPS 2021 best class question

So I have just returned from a hiatus and love using my StamCro for DPS.
However, I need a Mag toon for DPS. Now before I left I used a Heavy Attack 2-pet Sorc.
I grinded up a MagCro bc everyone said how amazing it is. TBH…It felt extremely awkward for me.
I’m thinking about regearing my petsorc but wanted some advice which direction I should go into.
I already have my gear (Mother’s Sorrkw, Medusa and Zaan and VMA staff).
1) regear heavy attack sorc?
2) Magblade?
3) Another?
Could use a pointer in the right direction for a good magDPS.
NOTE: not a beginner player, just need advice since it’s been a long break.
