Companion passives not triggering

Mirri's Expertise: Treasure Chests found through Treasure Maps and in the Overland have a 30% chance to provide additional loot from hidden compartments.

This doesn't seem to be working as intended. I've opened quite a few chests and it hasn't triggered once (i.e. haven't received a loot satchel like in the PTS)

Bastian's Insight: Potions looted from chests and monsters have a 30% chance to be improved by Bastian's Insight.

Not sure about Bastian's, but others are reporting that they haven't received any potions also.

Please clarify if they are currently bugged

I have Bastian at level 12, and Mirri at level 11. I wouldn't really know about Mirri, it could be working, but with Bastian, I received zero upgraded potions. All I got are regular essences.

Ya I've noticed with my lvl20 Mirri that I have not received anything new while having her active; im certain that their perks are bugged.

I got a buffed junk potion once.

Playing whole week with Bastian as a companion. Got only one improved potion:

The drop rate is even not close to 30%, I looted few stacks of "common drop" potions already so it's more like 0.3% not 30%

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom can this be looked into? Pretty disappointing that one of the main features of companions is not working correctly if at all.

I've been playing since Blackwood launch and got zero improved potions. Literally zero.

The help menu/tutorial literally says: "Each companion also provides a unique non-combat benefit while they are active. Truly bonding with your companion makes that benefit permanent."

No qualification is attached to the first part beyond the companion being active.

This is quite clearly not working as stated in the patch notes and tutorial. I know we get bugs every update with new features, but the number and extent of the ones with the companion system is really astounding to me.

Thanks for your reply. I have both of them out when playing, using Bastian most of the time, and still haven't got a single upgraded potion.

I wasn't sure if there were some level/quest requirement before the passive kicks in, but doesn't seem to be the case.

Welp, I guess this is destined to be yet another unacknowledged bug.

For the people who care, it seems the passives work as advertised once the mementos are unlocked. If anyone can confirm this that would be great

I find it hard to even bother with things anymore in games knowing they are probably not even working.

Supposedly Miri it is a satchel that shows up in inventory. I cant confirm since I've never seen it even after tracking down almost 50 buried treasures plus at least another 100+ random chests I've collected in last few days farming gear in public dungeons.

I thought their passives only kicked in once they are level 20. Don't remember where i read that though.

Maybe rapport has to be maxed as well?

I believe that’s the way it’s currently working, per other posts here on the forums, but it clearly contradicts both the patch notes and the in-game tutorial text (under “Companions”). Either the tutorial or the effect has to be fixed to make the two consistent with each other.

They confirmed this was a bug when they included it as a bug fix in the console patch several days ago. Gina said it should be fixed on PC/Mac with this week’s patch.

Thank you, I just saw the patch notes mentioned a fix for this:

Bastian and Mirri’s non-combat Perks are now active while they are active and present.

From a customer point of view, it is unacceptable that even though this issue was reported over 20 days ago, no one from the Zos team even cared to leave a reply in this thread. I wasn't expecting a fix within 15 minutes, I just wanted to know if there was anything I was doing wrong.

I got a couple of Mirri's caches after today's patch. Suddenly she seems a lot more attractive. If only she'd shut up, sigh.

Agreed. It is very unfortunate that many bugs go unacknowledged until they’re patched, if they’re even patched. There were bugs that went completely unacknowledged for over 4 years before being fixed. All it takes is a single sentence. Now, there are a *lot* of things to acknowledge, no question, but that’s part of the communication they keep promising to work on every year. “We’re on this and investigating” isn’t a bugfix, but it’s much better than silence.

I got exactly one upgraded potion after playing with Bastian out for hours and hours. So it definitely happens, but it seems super rare.

So anyone else running into this issue again? I'm on ps5 & last night finally maxed Mirri level & rep so started to work on Bastion. After playing all day & collecting over 100 chests (bunch from maps) without getting a single hidden bag that used to get 1 about every 4 chests at most.

Mirri's passive doesn't work with treasure maps chests, only overland/dungeon/trial chests. Not sure if it's a bug or intended behavior.

@six2fall Did you get the achievement and momento for the passive to work when she isn't about? There are other criteria that from memory are something like give her purple gear, make an alcoholic drink when she is about and take her to a daedric delve (that may be not 100% correct, worth double checking them all)

Didnt do anything like wasting gold to give her epic gear but after a full start it did start working

I did thankfully, the next day I did a full shutdown of ps5 & when I started playing it just worked.
