Will they ever add companions to old zones?

You know, like them adding companions to base game zones that's unlockable only if you have blackwood.

Or are we only getting new companions through the crown store and buying new zones post blackwood?

If this is the case then it's incredibly disappointing, because it is equivalent to them only adding antiquities to Western Skyrim and zones post Greymoor.

I think that they will add companions only with new DLC (chapters for sure, don't know how it will be Q4 DLCs) and this will be required specific DLC only. I don't see how to limit it by Blackwood. This is additional sale strategy, because if you will want specific, new companion then you will be buy specific DLC. I don't think that we will see new companion in base game (at least not soon)

who can really tell what's in the black hole that is ZOS mind... ;)

Frankly though, I've got the strong feeling that after leveling and gearing up the 2 available companions my desire for further companions will be very very limited.

That would fit organically, like if you alredy complete most of the quests you just receive a letter from some existing characters with an offer to go on an adventure together))

A maormer companion for Kenarthi's roost would rock.

I would expect any future companions to be crown store only.
As how we got the free houseguest through the Western Skyrim celebration event, but since only with crowns.

I don't see why not and I don't think they are going to be crown store only. Unlike housguests, companions are not only cosmetics + they provide plenty of indirect monetization possibilities (appearance alteration would be one of the obvious)

It is most likely in the nearest future we will be only getting new companions as a part of bigger content, though, because the system is still new and they would be (likely) concentrating on it's mechanics rather then creating new designs and storylines. Once it's more established and developed I see it pretty possible to add companions to older zones once in while - as a part of an event or something.

I'm pretty sure they will have to create new content for old zones anyway at some point (mythics can't carry them forever) so why not place a companion there.

You can use your companions in any zone, so not sure what your asking for?
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

Seeming there are achievements and quests attached to them I do think that they will come with future dlc’s. They could go back add some to existing chapters or dlcs if they want to. But people have already paid for those....so to make new money it would be added to the crown store.

It would be cool if they did, would make sense to pic up a altmer sorc in summerset. Etc etc.

We have an opportunity to have multiple companions in each class, with a mixture of different skills. They could add loads tbh.

Logically, we need at least one more companion to fit all three roles: dps, tank and healer. So I am looking for one more. After that if they introduce additional companions, I'll be less interested.

At the rate with the rapport system advancement, this one has no desire for more companions.

The are fun, and khajit likes them hanging around, but feel very grindy so two is enough.

You don't need to grind every companion :)

I hope that there will be one companion in Q4 DLCs and 2 in every chapter. I don't want to wait full year for any new option.

Of course. Just remember that you’ll have to have access to Blackwood to get and use companions, like Antiquities and Jewelry Crafting. So expect to unlock some new ones but just not be able to summon them out if you don’t have the requisite DLC

This, as it is not like the current zone has anything to do with the two companions we have other than that is where we unlock them.

I would expect we would find them in future updates and maybe even sold in the cash shop.
