Ridiculous Campanion Undaunted, Mage & Fighter's Guild Grind expected

I have spent horrific hours grinding 12 toons in these guilds.
Now I find that we are expected to do it for every single companion.
What?!
I already have all the mage books -am I meant to pay gold to get this or do undaunted dailies as though I'd started two new toons?
Not respectful -not okay.
Frankly, the Companion is not useful as it is. Can't fight. Can't live. I got it for something fresh to do since it's Winter here. There is no way grinding all these guilds again is worth anyone's time.

I was under the impression whatever the companions had was account wide. You only need to do their questline to get them on each of your characters. Hope I'm right.

It sucks for people who may have 1 to 3 characters, it gets easier the more characters you have. In total you need like 60 dailies to max out their Undaunted, Mage, and Fighters guild. With at least 12 characters you'll be done in 5 days with one Companion.

Create a problem and sell the solution. Once more companions are introduced, there will be companion skill upgrades sold in the crown store.

i dont deny the problem.
but i realized that Xp scrolls count towards Guild Skilllines. i got 3/4 done of lvl 1 with 1 daily and a 50% Xp scroll. so you can cut it down a little more.

nontheless, thats a "bandaid" and a workaround

Yeah, this is a little too much with guild lines. I don't understand really why that's necessary anyway.

I started a companion yesterday just to see how it was and it's actually kind of fun, but I can already see no way I'm going through all that grind to have companions on all my toons. Not needed anyway. I have no beef with them being in the game but it'll be a niche use thing for me.

Teamed up with some guild mates and we just took turns sharing dailies, not sure what you're complaining about but they were ranking up quite fast and we didn't even change the characters we were playing on.

Correct. OP is raging about nothing at all. Gained skills and abilities of your companions are account wide.

This is just plain WRONG... they DO fight and I have yet to have either of them die! It seems like you are going into this already with a bad attitude about it all. Yes, it's a grind, but it's meant to be done OVER TIME... like months. If you think the guild leveling is bad, just wait until you try to acquire gear. I believe someone once said there is a 1 in 5000 chance to get the gear piece you want/need... or pay MILLIONS on the guild store for a single purple piece in the best trait.

That one I don't actually know the answer to.

Vaguely related, my companion now has all 3 guilds at level 6 after 2 days. It only takes 2 dailies to gain a level, and they are shareable, so that's 20 days to max solo, or 10 days if you're 2 manning dailies together.

Hardly a 'ridiculous grind'.
