Quests that Lead you to the Companions

I am hoping I missed something but I started the Chapter Story for Blackwood and I had expected that the questline would bring me to the companions. It would be better if there were like breadcrumb quests that lead you up to the companions. Am I missing something? It just seems that the companions were just plopped down and not integrated into the chapter story. If I didn't miss anything then I hope future companions are worked into the main story quests or at least the main story quests lead you to their location.

✭✭✭✭✭It does not as far as I can tell. Both companion quests are side quests.
Bastion is on a small island towards the center of the southern coast.
Mirri is in the center north. Follow the road northward on the east side of the river. Very close to the top of the map you can get the quest.1
