Companions bugged when grouped as a Necromancer

I grouped up with a friend today to do some dungeons and test companions, when I discovered a bad bug that makes them pretty much useless and buggy when you are a necromancer.

While playing solo, companions are working perfectly fine on my necro, but when grouped, I noticed the companion kept constantly spamming dialogue like, "Rest in peace, friend." meant for mourning the player, even though no one had died.
I realised it was worse than annoying dialogue spam, they were sheathing their weapons and resetting aggro every few seconds, this was incredibly annoying, especially when you set your comp to tank.

I soon realised they were actually reacting to necro spawns dying, like skeletal mage and blastbones.
It was made doubly worse that my friend was also playing a necromancer.
Not only will your companion react to necro spawns dying, but so will your friends companion. This essentially make grouping on on a necro with a comp completely useless.
My necro is my main dps, and I'm going to have to get my magblade up to speed just so I can duo with my friends lol.

I was reproducing this bug every time just by grouping with someone, summoning my skeletal mage and waiting for it to die.
Every time, my companion would get on their knees and grieve a little, and it is worse when it is during combat.

Already wrote an in game ticket for this, but hoping ZOS will see this so I can eventually duo with my friends.

PS: Dialogue issue has been hotfixed but the bigger problem with this bug remains. The constant aggro drop.

Yep can confirm. Friend and I play necro together, they are definitely acting as you described.

I was surprised to not see this topic on the forums being discussed more frequently as it is completely immersion breaking and annoying.

I'm wondering if you both specifically have to be necromancers to recreate this bug or just have a necro in your group.

No you just have to have a necro in the group.
I can bug out my sorc friend's companion just by their companion being close enough to witness my summons dying.
And of course if you are the necro you will always get this if you are invited to a group.

I was in a delve yesterday finishing my dailies when I was invited to a group to do dungeons, immediately my companion begins bugging out, even though the rest of the party is waiting for me in Grahtwood.

It's becoming a chore to do daily quest shares with others because I'm having to join group just to share or receive a quest and then leave immediately, and coordinate that we are all indeed at the world boss through discord because we can't track each other on the map.

I would also like to add that the wardens Betty netch and morphs produce the same issue, but the nightblades shade abilities do not.

It also does not matter what setting you have the companion reactions set to

Bumping this post with a video to demonstrate the main issue with this bug, in which the companions drop aggro and return to the player, as it seems no one else is picking up on this.

Watch Bastian, he will sheath his weapons and walk back to me whenever blastbones or my other summons die.

When was the video taken? They patched something about Companions yesterday on PC, I wonder if they don't cry about your dead summon but still run back as if you had died?

"Companions will no longer loudly mourn the deaths of group members and will only mourn the player that summoned them."

Only 12 hours ago. This is post hotfix.

I edited my original post to mention that the audio problems were fixed but the functionality is still broken.

Ah well that sucks. At least they're quiet about it now.

My nephew and I both ran Necros yesterday and Bastian kept coming back. I switch to Mirri and she did not heal. When soloing Bastian is keeping aggro but when I group he gets wonky. I have look at Mirri's Stats when I solo to see if she heals.

I got excited thinking that ZOS might have fixed this with Waking Flame update.
Already grouped with a friend and tested again, it is still bugged.

Might have to @developers for this to get any chance of being fixed

Meanwhile I still hear some sorcs screaming in Streak. :D

Still, hoping this gets fixed. It's good to finally know why my friend's companion was just like "RIP" all the time and driving him a little bonkers because I'm a fastcro. :# Guess I gotta apologize to him now.
