New chapter and performance

What changes are they making in the update to increase performance, reduce lag, etc.? I'd love to buy the new chapter but the server performance is quit challenging.

This is not a complaint post -- I'd actually read that these fixes were to be included and would like more info if anyone has it. Thanks.

Load time after character is extremely better. Also load time into character screen for once didn't take forever... though I did watch choppy trailer so maybe not

Thanks! I'll find out tomorrow on console.

Fwiw, the performance changes you mention wont be related to whether or not you buy the chapter - they will be automatically patched with the update to the base game. Personally, I haven't seen much difference in performant areas on PC other than loading screens which seem to have gotten a bit better over the course of the last year. Other than that, everything else seems to be about the same as always.

The Dev Tracker would be a good area to follow for the latest publicly available information other than official announcements

Thanks. It was in response to a comment made by another poster, which I couldn't find. I was asking because I can't justify buying more content that I can't play.

Personally, ever since they announced performance increases over several updates it has been slower in every department from loading/exiting a character to playing highly active dolmens without crashing. I'm on PS4.
I can't imagine what it will be like with extra companions running around as well.
Like you, I'll find out shortly .....

If the PvE content has been bad to the point that you legitimately cannot play it, then it's not a game performance issue, it's a your end issue. Are you playing on a basic PS4, or the Pro? I'm on the Xbox One X and PvE is just fine for me all the time. The only lag I ever get is in Cyrodiil, or some audio stuttering during Dragon fights in Anequina.

I have a base PS4 and a PS4 Pro. The game runs fine on both. The lag happens during prime time in Cyrodiil like on every platform.

Can only say what I've noticed myself.

Better load times, sometimes significantly better, also less performance decrease the longer you playing. Were doing vbrp yesterday for the first time this patch and after two hours it was virtually no memory leak related problems compared to pre patch, also noticed that less effects are present on screen in load heavy situations so there were definitely some changes there also.

When it comes to PC PVE performance I'm surprised - new trial feels decently optimized, it has less fps drops than older ones (especially vCR which tanks my FPS to low 20-30s). I'm also experiencing less random crashes - they were very common in FoA update, especially when switching characters or zones.
