Will zos be implementing this in ESO for the upto 2.5x FPS? @ZOS_GinaBruno

I already went onto AMD website and put ESO on their list, more people that do that bigger the leverage AMD has to make ZOS listen and we all know that ZOS listens to its player base and implement the changes straightaway

The fact that everyone says it’s easy to implement into the games zos can’t really argue against doing it and it will be quicker and less work than dlss

Yes I registered ESO too on the AMD website

Supports both Nvidia and AMD? Sounds pretty awesome!

AMD Fidelity Fx deserves to be supported! Can we get an official reply?

So I tried it today on the free riftbreaker beta and my 5 year old Nvidia gtx 1080 gets an extra 50 FPS (71% increase) from 70 to 120 fps with AMD super fidelity fx enabled.

This would be awesome if implemented into ESO. It might even solve all the lag problems in cyro. Can we get some input Gina ? Will ESO be adopting this new technology?

I know we’re few weeks on from this discussion but with a few advancements from external people (so not Zos) I just wanted to share my trail and errors

I gave Magpie a try but found it to be full of bugs it would change the full screen back to window which was a little annoying but the part I didn’t like is any writing was upscaled blurry and i didn’t see any real FPS increase so decided it wasn’t worth using

I finally decided to tray lossless scaler, this time paying for the program instead of the demo which doesn’t work as well because the force resolution option and scaling is disabled on demo version

The paid version of lossless has performed beyond expectations, it upscales with out issues because of the two options mentioned and it doesn’t change back to window mode either, the writing on addons like info panel still looks a little blurry but nowhere near as magpie did

The biggest surprise I got was my FPS jumped up by 50 and for the first time I was able to hit (delves and dungeons for me is the same FPS) 144fps on a 144hz monitor running at 3440x1440p

I did notice that info panel was registering 90fps while rivatuner was registering 140fps, rivatuner does leave some ghosting when going to full screen but found that once in full screen close and restart rivatuner solves this but I do have the info details halfway across the screen not in a corner

The image looks great even sharper and little more crisp no input delays that I can see, disclaimer I am old so eye sight may vary!

I really hope Zos do the two days worth of work and integrate this internally because what lossless has achieved is surprising great and any loss visually which is minimal is worth the FPS gains for both PC and Consoles, the only issue I have is having to start the program and typing hot keys plus rivatuner restart as mentioned

Test system used pointing out its not high end system and eso is on high presets
HP 8300 elite I7 cmt (roughly 10 years old) few modifications like SSD drive extra fans
GTX 1650 (6 pin) powered MSI afterburner auto scan overclocked
    Ultra wide 3440x1440p 144hz monitor

I would be surprised if they added dlss before adding fidelity fx.

Fidelity fx is easier to implement and it works with pretty much any gpu. AMD says it works with GTX 1000 series, but I have seen people benchmarking it with gtx 900, 800, 700 series, and the fps boost was still there, so it must work with those gpus too.

Dlss on the other hand is not only Nvidia exclusive, but also RTX gpus exclusive and I would assume a lot of people don't have those yet.

I tried lossless scaling FSR and it looks bad, even at minimal sharpness. It upscales all noise and grain and makes it sharper, making game look bad. FSR works well in some games, but ESO is not one of them.

FSR only helps when gpu bound. ESO is majorly cpu bound. Especially cyrodill

For me now both cpu and gpu are below 90% usage but that wasn’t why I am replying I just wanted to let you know that in today’s update there is a new “multithreaded rendering” option in video options that might help you

I think ZOS should absolutely add FSR. From what I've heard, it's rather simple to implement. Now that CPUs can be better leveraged, FSR would be the sherry on top. I'm so often GPU bound now, FSR would really help there!

[snip] DLSS is good, but we need open technology like Fidelity FX SR. It's better due it's implementable for cross-platfrom.

Xbox uses AMD tech so kinda surprised they went with Nvidia first.

Yup, FSR would be a welcoming feature fore many users and while it may not help everyone it will likely help quite a bit of users out there.

Lag problems in Cyrodiil are network related. Your machine's framerate has zero impact on this.
