I did slate them saying it was going to be a mess. But very happy to eat my words. :)

I agree with OP. Congrats to ZOS for a smooth update.

I’ll add congratulations for: a beautiful new zone, some interesting and well-done NPCs, and interesting new story lines.

You did a great job. Especially when you factor in the difficulties of the past year.

    Thanks.

Been mostly ok so far. Done the whole main story line and some other bits

Two crashes to desktop so something is still broken there, one 'had to logout and back in' to progress the main questline and a couple of 'companion randomly vanished'

Outside of the questing area of the game it's a bit of a disaster zone though. Stamina on blocking is broken so it's basically impossible to tank dungeons properly (sometimes a hit seems to happen twice, sometimes your stamina suddenly drops to nearly nothing for no reason), and the changes to the proc sets and monster helms were not toned back down from the overdone mess on the PTS, so instead of everyone wearing identical sets of mother's sorrow and medusa in PVP we now have the same farce in PVE if not worse because you also don't want a monster helm but two pieces of crit gear or one and a mythic item.

Hopefully the stamina bug will get hotfixed, and in time they'll do something more sensible with the proc set scaling.

Some addon breakages but that's not Zenimax problem. Craftstore blows up every time you loot a companion item for example. No doubt they'll get fixed pretty fast.

So happy overall - much smoother than the Greymoor mess.

The opening cinematic scene was choppy, but I got through it. Loading times, moving around in Blackwood, and the few hours I got in chasing down the companions and killing a few world bosses was flawless in terms of server response and fluid gameplay. The zone itself is gorgeous. Congrats on a smooth transition ZoS!

So much for that smooth launch. :(

If it's truly a hardware issue, you can't always predict when something like that goes off. The launch itself and the state of the game is what people seem to be talking about here.

In general a very good launch day :) I had similar issues with the download, repair and a little persistence succeeded after three hours.

Addons were the biggest issue but I had a long session disabling all the out of date ones. The error messages then disappeared. I've kept them as it's too early to discard the out of date addons as the API has changed and the addon authors will hopefully update them.

I just updated the API version in the addon text files manually - they all still work just fine.

Still we were tried of server going down after launch. Also EU just had hardware issue so one can wonder why didn't they look at NA too before this happened.

Do you have Minion? I updated all my addons while still playing (10-15 seconds) and when I jumped on another char, they where working fine.

Now I might be a bit early - maybe I'm jumping the gun, but.......

Congrats to ZoS for what must be the smoothest launch of a new Chapter yet!

The download was fast, initial load was smooth, no major bugs, no crashes, patch notes were early, and you finished and brought the servers up early. Of course, somewhere in an alternate reality @ZOS_GinaBruno is running around with a fire extinguisher in the server room, but here in my reality....... we're all good!

Hello, back again. So after a day, game was mostly smooth. Few lag spikes but nothing major and only dc'd once in Rockgrove. Overall good launch really heard nothing major like last year.

Yeah it was pretty smooth, spent 10 minutes patching, updated my addons with minion, logged right in. Stayed logged in for a good 3 hours before logging off. Frame rate felt normal, ping was as normal as it can be in ESO, and the only thing I noticed was load times between zones took twice as long as usual but I mean...no crashing. Pretty smooth for me!

Yes, I used to do that but this time I thought that with substantial changes in the API one could disable them until they are updated. As long as Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter and Bandits UI are up to date I'm sort of golden ;)

My thought is that today and the hardware failure maintenance has nothing to do with Launch. The hotfix debacle from last week to fix companion gear, then to fix companion gear AND the exploit they created with the first companion gear fix, was launch related, though.
