HOUSING IDEA: Portals!

Collectible items that come in pairs - place them both and you can port back and forth between areas of your house! They can be mage-esque portals (the pink oval), floor pools (like Psijic or Nocturnal portals), fiery daedric spheres/gates, etc.

Let's say your guild hall is Bastion Sanguinaris and all of the crafting tables are way out on the terrace. You can put one end of the portal near the entrance and one out by the crafting tables so your guild members don't have to run all the way through multiple doors and huge rooms to get there!

Agree this is an awesome idea, especially if the portals are small and unobtrusive.

I imagine they'd be like chairs where they won't work if you put them in wonky places lol

That's an awesome idea (especially for massive houses), the hall of the lunar champion has something similar where portals connect different areas of the house that you unlock, although they're the only way to get to there. Placeable portals would be a great quality of life addition to housing.

When I read the title I imagined houses like the ones in Dan Simmons "Hyperion Cantos" where every room is connected to the others by portals and they're all spread out across different planets.
It would be really cool to have a house like that in ESO where each room was located somewhere with views of a different major city or other awesome area.
In the novel I talked about the bathroom was on a large raft floating on a world completely covered in water. And they'd walk through a portal from one room with views of a jungle into another perched atop the highest mountain on a world covered in snow.
