The Map is too bright - can we dull it down

Just what I said in the title- the map color is often too bright when I pull it up (especially at night)


Could we shift the color to something more toned down instead of such a bright white-yellow?

Maybe something more akin to this nice shade of brown?
Why not make the filled areas bright and the empty areas dark?


Side Note: wouldn't it be cool if the Blackreach Maps were a dark grey/blue - to emphasize that its underground

This was my feedback, it would be nice if there was an option in the settings menu is all I am saying - or maybe there's an add-on

No, because. You may think that you have a point, but you don't. Looking at the data, it is clear that your views are untenable and your statements are inaccurate. I suggest you take a moment to look closely at the false assumptions you are making and reconsider your opinions. I wouldn't want the first map you posted toned down at all, it's not remotely bright to me. Are you sure this isn't something related to your monitor or game settings rather than the way it is coded?

Or maybe you want it lighter rather than brighter? Certainly your second map is darker, too dark for my liking.

Agreed. It's not blown-out on highlights in any way, and the contrast is well-beyond sufficient to differentiate zone boarders.

Also, people should not be using monitors in the dark, or without adequate bias lighting when ambient lightning is low.

You could try Votan's Tamriel Map and set the color in the options to "Allicances" which would look like this:



Or in combination with Highly Detailed World Map and Votan's Tamriel map option "No Colors":
