Loading Addons - From the Start?

I just started trying things on the PC after building a LOT on the PS4.

Loading Addons seems like a really challenging process to start.

Any packages of common libraries instead of loading them one at a time?

What addon would give me the resource markers I see in some YouTube videos?

Any other key suggestions? I am likely to load WritWorthy and TTC at the least.

Where do I find the file I see many notes saying to back it up frequently?

Majority of PC users go with the ESOUI Minion addon manager to handle nearly all of that.

The resource markers addon you're seeing is probably HarvestMap. Keep in mind that addons, especially that one, will put quite a strain on your computer. I know you mentioned in another thread that your pc is pretty old, so perhaps give it a go but be prepared to experience problems the more addons you load. I generally suggest running Combat Metrics, as it's the go-to for improving dps. As a seasoned player, you might not need it though. Combat Metrics Link: https://esoui.com/downloads/info1360-CombatMetrics.html

Good point. I would build a new system now if not for the GPU/CPU access challenges. I may do it anyway and just not go for quite as close to the state of the art as I usually do. That would save me money as well.

I am a seasoned player in the sense I have been playing on the PS4 for several years. I am not that great at it, so something like the combat metrics addon may ultimately be worthwhile.

I can't get Minion to work on my PC. It seems to download and install OK. It does the search for add ons, but then nothing happens. It just sits there with a blank area where the list of add ons should appear. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Minion several times, but just can't get it to work.

Things worked after I manually copied them to the right place. Not the install folder, but the Users folder.

I need something like Wowhead to keep them all updated now....

Minion may do that, but it seems to not work as well.

Minion works well if you fllow the troubleshooting guide and some other information I have collected here:

    https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238
    https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8082

Use the 32bit version, do not install to the default folder but use e.g. c:\Minion instead, Allow Minion in your Antivirus and Firewall tools (Windws Defender e.g., Windows Firewall).

Here is a "How to find the correct addon folder" which you need to select with Minion then:
    https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8858
-> Read below "Where do I need to install/extract the addon zip files to?"
Best way to take the screenshot ingame and watcha t the upper righ edge of your screen what foldername is shown. One folder above you'll find the "AddOns" folder then.

If Minion does not show any addons after you have chosen the ESO addons folder, wait 5 minutes, close Minion and reopen it again. Repeat this up to 3 times.
If still nothing shows up report your Minion.log and Minion.xml files here (start new thread and tell us what you did and tried already): https://www.esoui.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=183

And about the backup of your SavedVariables (the files where the addon settings are stored):

If you want to understand "dependencies" (libraries):
