Ultimate enhancing potions please

Ultimate enhancing potions based on class/skill tree.

Part of the balancing issue that comes from proc sets is keeping them aligned with preexisting sets, static sets, and static buffs while also keeping them toned down enough for pvp but still relevant. For this to happen all sets have been streamlined to do pretty much the same thing or at least hold to a certain value.

Example: Dolymesh vs twin sisters. Both are a damage set with about 10 seconds of cooldown, one is burst damage and one is a dot but the damage and cooldown limit doesn't exceed these values for 90% of the sets in the game (including monster helms). And anything above becomes the obvious meta.

To make combat more dynamic I purpose the use of potions for enhancing Ultimate abilities. This would add more potential to pvp builds without interfering with pve since players could have more burst but with an opportunity cost.

My thoughts exactly on this would be like a potion that after consuming: for the next three seconds enemies hit with your dawnbreaker return 13 ultimate. This would potentially allow for a second dawnbreaker at the cost of not using an immovable pot. The 45 second cooldown on potions would also mean the player exposes themselves since they would have no ultimate or potion to use.

What are your thoughts on this? Could it work with the current combat system and, would you consider farming these new alchemy nodes if they dropped only in Imperial City? ;)

You could use the Arkasis set which gets you 42 ultimate for drinking a potion in combat. Sounds like you could drink an immovable pot and proc that

There are a bunch of super under-powered alchemy effects that could stand a bit of a re-vamp.

Along with the theme of the thread, the 'ultimate eating' poison is far too weak for what it does, especially given the ingredients (e.g. expensive dragon ingredients) involved in its preparation.

It would be a far more intriguing option if it 'stole' at least the base 3 ultimate/second from the target and funneled it to the poisoner - you would, at one stroke, both substantially nerf your opponent's ult-gen and well as substantially buff your own.

When you are Nightblade, every potion is Ultimate potion :p

When it comes to group play PvP, this is already the case.
You can see some builds supporting other builds that spam dawnbreaker every10 sec. This is not new.
As already mentioned, you have sets like Arkasis, you have potions that give minor Heroism 100% of the time, you can use Heartland Conqueror Set with Decisive trait backbar, for basically 2 ultimate every 1.5 sec, just from that. tons of other options.

I think you guys are missing the point, the ultimate gen is just an example, they could add that to anything like a negate instead of DB.

The point is having a better boom and bust system with an appropriate cooldown to avoid spam. With potions this is possible because of factors like the 45 second cooldown and the ultimate gen needed to use your ultimate.

Also depending on the rarity of the alchemy mats, players might only have a few potions to use per night/raid. This would be extremely rewarding for players who like to time their burst.

Another example would be: For the next 5 seconds your elemental storm does 50% more damage but all skills cost 50% more for 5 seconds.

The example above is a kiss/curse that would be terrible on a set but with a potion it is now something worth considering in pvp.
