Are there any places in all of ESO other than the Colovian Estates within the Gold Coast zone in which a player can approach a door/gate, and text appears on screen describing a zone which cannot be traveled to?

I would love to go to the Colovian Estates.

Umm that's a house that's only available at certain times.

There are gates that don't go anywhere yet:

    - In northern Reaper's March is a locked gate north of Arenthia Vale.
    - In western Eastmarch is a locked gate near The Frigid Grotto.
    - In southwestern Shadowfen is a locked gate.

However, there is a locked gate in eastern Gold Coast.

That is not the gate. The gate I posted about is further south.

Do any of those prompt text on the screen of the zone they lead to?

Not that I recall, but I'd have to check to be sure.

If you look at the map of Cyrodiil from Oblivion, the only place you could go by traveling east would be the PvP zone of Cyrodiil.

No, it should go to an area between the Gold Coast and Cyrodiil zones of ESO, as you can see by zooming the map out to view all of Tamriel. Skingrad would be in that region, I think.

On PTS gate in Shadowfen actually leads to new Blackwood zone. And from there you can go to Elsweyr zone through another gate.

There's a locked gate northeast of Troll's Toothpick and Fang Lair in Bangkorai. I don't remember if there's any text on screen there.

I just noticed that connection on the map of Tamriel in the UESPwiki, just before I came back here and saw your post. Thanks for confirming that! :)

So with the new patch it's finally possible to run around Reaper's March -> Malabal Tor -> Greenshade -> Grahtwood -> Northern Elsweyr -> Blackwood -> Shadowfen -> Deshaan -> Stonefalls -> The Rift -> Eastmarch without having to use wayshrines to skip missing bits of map. Could even add checkpoints in Murkmire. Should make for some nice orienteering races

Hopefully in another couple of years Central Skyrim and Hammerfell will be filled in and we'll finally be able to do a round Tamriel orienteering challenge.

That would be great. Though on topic it seems the Gold Coast gate to the Colovian Estates is currently unique.

There is blocked off road both in the Reach (east from Lost Valley Redoubt) and in the Craglorn (i think there is gate right next to the cart to the dungeon) that head towards what should be Falkreath Hold (which obviously is dungeon, but of course its only town and a bit of the forest outside.

There's supposed to be a gate in southeastern Craglorn that's presumably on the other side of the Daggerfall Covenant gate in Cyrodiil. In fact, the first time I wanted to go to Cyrodiil and didn't know that the only way to get there is to queue with L, it was my intention to enter Cyrodiil "naturally," meaning on foot via roadway, so I traveled to Craglorn to try to find the way to enter Cyrodiil from there. Fun times, back when I was still fairly new to ESO.

I didn't find that map and since the game is on maint I couldn't be bothered looking for it. My mistake, I had the Oblivion map in my head as I've stared at it so many times lol. The ESO map is completely off compared to that.

Yes, the differences between the single player game maps and the eso version can be confusing to one which is use to the prior game in which it is depicted.

I was traveling though Western Skyrim last evening, and it felt very different compared to TESV. I attribute it to the one thousand year in the past setting, and also ESO being a different type of game than the single player games.

More to it you can descend to Blackreach in Eastmarch, get to Western Skyrim this way and walk into Reach finally :)

Once we will be able to run around Tamriel in circles, I am sure some one will come up with some kind of "Dakar" style "Tour The Tamriel" Endurance mount racing :D:joy:
