Non Combat Pets should have passive buffs

Thinking similar to how Bungee uses the Ghost mechanic. Non Combat Pets having a small single stat buff/perk that doesn't break the game would be great.

Ie:
1% extra resource recovery
Enhanced keen eye on nodes
Extra stealth detection

And so on. Could even tie these things to the type of pet. For example, the wolf pets could have the stealth detection buff as it would make sense that they'd be good at "sniffing out" hiding enemies.

If anything, non-combat pets should be removed from the game completely.

No. It's bad enough dealing with combat pets in the way. If non combat pets have buffs then everyone would have one out. Going to town would be a nightmare.

Even if the buff would be marginal, it would more or less force anyone to have their non-combat pet out all the time, which would be a nightmare for performance, especially in trial groups. Not a good idea to be honest. Those pets are cosmetic just like styles are cosmetic and they should remain cosmetic in my opinion.

Have it disabled for trials and only for overland solo content.

We have skills and CP for these buffs. We don't need a cosmetic feature to provide something we already have.

This would probably cross the line into pay-to-win. Most "non-combat" pets come from the crown store. Also I wouldn't want to be obligated to have more visual clutter following me around.

True. But with the upcomming new ingame currency which will allow people to buy crates without spending real life cash would make it so it's not pay to win anymore since anyone can get them. Just gonna be down to lots of grinding and RNG.

But sure, people who do spend money can get them faster than those who don't.
But that's more a convenience than P2W at that point.

sure, if most if not all non combat pet are from rewards ingame, the problem is non-combat pet majority are from crown store, and it;ll dangerously close to P2W area if this implemented

I only disagree because they're called non- combat pets, and also some of them are exclusive. Like my beta monkey. It would be unfair to others who no longer can access them.

This is a big point too. NCP would have to be reworked in a major way to introduce passive buffs.

Like Solid Metal says, it'd actually be straight up buying power because of the cash shop.

If the buffs are that small, there's no reason to have them for Overland, or at all really. And they couldn't be used in Cyrodiil either, so things like stealth detection radius on a wolf would be 100% useless since no NPC enemies use stealth.

While I may have missed something, I have not seen anything in the crown store that gave you something that was not available in the game. Selling non-combat pets that made players stronger would be a step in the wrong direction and begin to make this game more like F2P Neverwinter and that would be a very bad thing.

They are cosmetic for those who enjoy things cosmetic. They are fun and harmless.

No one needs to be criticized for having the “wrong” pet equipped.

Don’t “fix” things that do not require fixing.

The Ghost mechanic more or less forces you to have a specific ghost for the bonus. Your idea would force you into specific non combat pets for the bonus removing the choice of taking whichever you like.

Terrible, awful idea. Just the worst.

The Non-Combat Pets that grant Inventory upgrades are already pushing things.
