Different zones should have unique mounts for purchase.

Particularly Chapter/DLC zones (but not exclusively). Why are the same 3 horses available in Rimmen, where the stable master only talks about senche? Or Vivec City/Balmora, where they pride their bipedal guar and kagouti? There's a unique opportunity here to make expansions more appealing!

Yeah but thats the thing. They have never added anything for free in the game. never added a mount or a pet which is actually purchasable for gold beside the basic ones. Every mount or basicly anything is only if you pay real cash or have to work your ass off in raid.

Like for example in a *** phone game there is more chance to get a new item without paying than in eso.

In wow, star wars, gw2 youre able to get bunch of mounts/ships for just playing the game. Here ite pay or nay

Hopefully when we get a base game update they will add more base game mounts that are regional. Does not make sense that you cannot buy a guar in Morrowind.

I agree this would be a nice addition.

I don't mind paying crowns for them, but it seems weird that they're not available at the stables. One way to do it could be to have all the stable masters offer the basic horses for gold but then add an option to ask them about the exotic mounts they talk about and that opens a second menu where you can buy those mounts with crowns instead.

holy moly this is a fantastic idea.

I think the mounts should actually be paid for with currencies that you earn from dailies and events in those zones, not just gold. Then it makes you play in the zone more and feel like you earned it.

We got a whole slew of Indrik mounts.

I wouldn't mind seeing generic camels and mounts like that added to the stables.

I was so shocked when I started playing that the mounts displayed in the stables weren't available for sale. First stable was Vivec City - no guars or kagouti.... Disappointing!

They can add some basic guar and kagouti to the black marsh zones, some senche to the Elsweyr zones, etc.

Those would be the basic mounts we see at the stable keepers. They can still sell a gazillion reskins in the store and people will buy them.

In Guild Wars 2, you get one of each mount type via the quests, but all the reskins are purchased or from the loot crates.

It would make sense to add mounts types by region. Camels are better at traversing desert areas while horses are better at traversing plains for example. I'm not sure what would be the superior mount in marshy terrain though.

These mounts would have to be simple looking, but that's something I would prefer anyway. And if they really want to push a subscription, they could tie it to ESO plus. Everyone that doesn't subscribe could still get them on 'free weeks'.

You can see a potential progenitor with both endeavors & lootbox mounts purchasable w/ gems.

Except the gem thing is just a deceptive PR stunt because you can't get gems without buying into their online gambling system.

To be fair during the first year of the game's life when there was no crown store (and a mandatory subscription) there were no other mounts at all. There were the 4 horses available from stables, the white horse which was part of the Imperial Edition bundle and the palomino which was sold through the website. That was it.

Maybe if the game had continued with a mandatory subscription they would eventually have added other types of mounts and maybe they'd have been available in-game, but based on the evidence we have from what actually happened it seems just as likely we'd have no other mounts or a lot fewer of them. It might just be the loyalty senche (which was probably supposed to be the 12 month reward but got moved forward because the game didn't last 12 months with that business model) and the few which come from trials or achievements.

I don't like that almost all the new mounts go into the crown store (and a lot aren't even directly in the store, they're in crates) but I don't think it's as simple as saying without the crown store we'd get the same number of mounts but they'd be free or cost gold. They had an oppertunity to do that (and lots of people on the forum asking for more animals as mounts) and didn't do it.

There could also be a "horse market" once a month in every major city as a kind of mini-event. During one weekend of the month you can buy other mounts there for gold or exchange - "trade" - them with other players. And for people who don´t mind to invest more (and as a financial incentive for the developers), there would be a changing offer of mounts purchable with crowns.
