Nightblade Gank Healing Theorycrafting

Instead of focusing on raw healing, would it be possible for a nightblade healer to go for spell damage and penetration while also forcing crits with shadow disguise on funnel health? I'm also wondering if hitting multiple targets with funnel health would improve the heal.

It seems that the healing tick that you get from funnel is affected whether your hit was a crit or not, then the idea would be to pair it with other long HOTs and a panic burst, that is, healthy offering, to take use of a good single target heal to counter for your lack of heal %.

I thought about a mix of 5 spinners and 3 stuhns and then some other healing set/monster helm with lover mundus, but i have not a single shred of confidence that any of that would be worth the effort. I'm also afraid funnel health might get you out of stealth, but i'm not sure. Looking to use it on pvp (bgs) but also handle myself on dungeons and such.

Shadowy Disguise doesn't force crit heal, only crit damage, I think?

EDIT: nvm, I see what you're saying about heals sourced from % of damage.

I currently have a magblade almost like this. I've built up a lot of pen as well, to try to see if funnel would be worth.

Its way better in PvE tbh. There I can reliably force a crit to get double a regen heal from funnel/swallow soul.

In PvP it depends on your target. The annoying part is that depending on what they do, you can have severely reduced healing or none at all. If they dodge it's costly since you try to cloak crit with it which ends up wasting both costs. Depending on how tanky they are you could also get pitiful heal numbers due to unreliable damage. Not sure if shields interfere but I've seen low numbers off of shielded targets.

Just my experiences trying it. It can be great in pve, but pvp cuts it's damage in half by default already reducing its number. Players being unpredictable with defense or dodging makes it seem like a liability instead, wasting cloak and funnel cost at the same time. Just using regen works much better.

Just me experiences with it. I'd rather go with swallow soul in PvP for strong ranged damage since the heal wasn't worth most the time.

Well, that's somewhat disappointing but expected. I was mostly worried because every time someone brings up healing in PVP at all it's always mentioned that healers should also be quick to help to damage.

With that aside, i have different questions.
1 - How much spell damage/pen/critical should a healer go for to be useful?

2 - Is using the magicka melee skills on a healer (concealed weapon, lotus) a good idea at all? I just find them way more satisfying to use, plus the stun from concealed and the damage increase/aoe from lotus, which i was actually planning on pairing with sap essence.

I am now also considering using more defensive sets, rather than Stuhn and Spinners, instead go for Pariah (defense) and Caluurion (force crits on Merciless Burst).

I don't know much about Healing but I think you could get a good use of Archer's Mind here on a gank healer

The fifth bonus sounds interesting, but medium armor passives won't help much, compared to heavy or light.

I've seen successful magblades do both. I think on a mag character it just really depends on what skills you slot. Like have a damage bar and a resto bar. Mag dps and healers build almost the same except dps needs pen. I'd recommend spinners or something that at least gives some spell pen. For mag dps, I personally want at least 15k pen on my characters. But if you want to heal as well, you might want more max magicka. Maybe crafty alfiq?

Magblade melee is completely fine, you could choose to have swallow soul for ranged, and concealed + lotus for burst attempts. Just be aware of how much light armor you wear, as you should slot at least a shield or cloak for defense. Stuns and cc help a lot too.

Experiment. Magblade has a lot of ways you could go. Love nightblade as a class.

The least understood combat mechanic IMO are crit heals. They think the heal is just flat which is wrong. Heals can critically strike.

Wear mother sorrow set. Have a stage 4 vamp friend go down to low hp, use a heal like rapid regen then watch the heals critically strike.

You can use it on jewelry though, it's not that hard to farm or find on guild traders
