Pvp is actually great right now, performance is better than it has been in months, and I am enjoying myself immensely.
PC/NA Grey host (AD), Blackreach (all factions)
I love it. I thought I would miss my proc sets, honestly I do not.
Come on in, the water is fine!

Cyrodiil performance has improved a lot on PS the last few months.

I don't think your opinion is that unpopular. A lot of people prefer PvP without proc sets. I myself prefer the current experience on Gray Host too. Lots of people do.

It's the PvP in Battlegrounds that suck right now. You can be annihilated in micro seconds with their ridiculous proc damage, and I hear that is only going to get worse in Blackwood.

I don't think it is as an unpopular opinion as you might think. It's just the vocal minority that tends to make the negativity posts.

Great or not is a matter of opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Performance is still horrible though. This is a qualitative measure, not an opinion. Lag, disconnects, stuck in combat, etc., every bug is rampant in cyro right now, and performance is as bad as it's ever been, and notably worse if near a ball group or it's the weekend or prime time.

Do you feel it has improved though in the last few months? I would say so. However, just like how great is a matter of opinion, so is everyone's idea on what the improvement threshold must be to better than what is was before. If things are better, than why can they not be great for everyone. I feel too many people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to these types of things.

I've been playing since early 2014. I know what the game looks like when it's working properly. It's not working properly at this time. Performance has been in a fairly steady decline over the last couple to few years. Nothing has changed that trend in recent history.

To the contrary: I have found my skills fire appropriately more often than not. My purge purges! My heals heal! Heck, I have even been able to break free, and mount!
Disconnects are rare, and not pvp specific-- last night I was having a wind storm in the area, and crashed multiple times throughout the night. . . That isn't zos's fault, that's my crappy small town internet playing up in bad weather.

I play no CP cyro and half the time I can not break free with full or close to full stam, I freeze mid bow draw and am unable to fire for some seconds, whirling blade refused to go off, my skill bar will mysteriously grey out for several seconds, my ulti refuses to fire at full capacity and I am pulled out of stealth repeatedly by almost everything. I could go on.

There is about a 25% forum minority that are in favor of procless Cyrodiil according to three seperate polls taken before, during, and after the original procless testing. Yes there are some that appreciate playing without procs, but those are mostly magsorcs.

Play stamplar in Cryodiil without procs 4 hours a day for 2 weeks and tell me you love procless Cryodiil and then we can talk. I did that to level up my Alliance Rank for Legate Black on my main toon, and getting absolutely destroyed my magsorcs day in and day out is in no way fun. At least with proc sets I stand a chance.

I don’t know if its relevant, but I go full glass cannon on proc sets, nit the super tank with procs, so next patch I’m technically getting a buff to my playstyle.

So is it safe to enter Cyridiil now as a lowly PVE player without being in a ball group or whatever it’s called?

Whole lotta "YMMV". If you're talking about doing the dailies in towns, or Skyshard hunting and/or fishing, it's just going to depend on who's around you. For example, when/if I'm in Cyro, if someone is clearly just a PvE only player trying to quest, I leave them alone. Same as when I'm in IC (which is rare anymore). Yeah, it'd be easy kills, but, nah, I'd rather fight people actually wanting to fight. However you might run across players that will kill you in seconds.

Tl:Dr depends entirely on who is around you at the time

Note: never been in a ball group but from the forums it seems to be the only way to survive.

This one’s record of survival in Cyrodiil is one hour. Being killed, followed by a dozen players etc repeat and rinse… it’s not fun.

One issue is many long(er) term Cyro players have been tricked in the past, sometimes repeatedly. Someone will pretend to be a PvE player just trying to quest, but then suddenly either unload a huge rotation, or tell their friends in chat about enemy strength, etc. Kind of a "once bitten, twice shy" thing. Granted this is more common in IC, even I've been burned there by someone who kept up permablock (the universal symbol of "I'm PvE and don't want to fight"), only for me to go about my business and them murder me.

I was PvE only until about 5-6 months ago, now do both, depending on toon. I'm one of those weird masochists that prefers Battlegrounds, though. Way more than Cyro and IC

Empty compains - and even so 1 skill is possible to press per 2-3 seconds.

    I think - NO THANK YOU !!!

With new PTS changes i think - NO THANK YOU ! I will not play PVP any more.

In next patch i think with such changes no PVP will be in game.

Devs do not understand what the hell they are doing.

And they do not even listen normal ideas.

And they will not ! 100 people who do not know how game works - against 1 who knows.

Try to hear that 1. If they do not know how balance work they do not know whom to hear.

And that 1 from 100 are already do not even care.

    It was simple solution.

NOT TO DO WHAT THEY DO !!!

Make procs BE MAXED at some SUMM of (WPD+MAX STAMINA) or (SPD + MANA)

And for tancs procs on DEF !!! NOT HP !!!

30 k def - for work like current procs. So tanks with more def can have a little more effect.

And limit it like +-20% MAX for it.

Like not more than 1400 hit and not less than 1000 hit if now it is 1200.

Problem was when tanks with a lot of def do damage with unremovable veteshrain destro + 1 proc + dots.

    Now vateshrain is purgable.

If need in stats - it will be less damage such tanks can do - so NO PROBLEM !!!

And if some sets do to much DPS fix just that sets.

And "DO NOT !!! make battle spirit for HP REGEN it is the most silly change after change of racial passives !!!"

What the hell is on PTS now ? Do not think i would play PVP next patch too ... .

So the “pve” player then share trade secrets about other players and invite a bunch of their friends to kill them? That’s madness! Why such plotting? What is gained? Some digital coins and tokens that means nothing of permanence? A transient moment of online recognition for being a dull claw ash sucker?

If people and mer spend this much time on real world issues… sorry, this one is getting quite angry and heated.

Once again asking for ZOS to look into players able to cast all abilities in 1 second, not matter if there is a cast time envolved, including Ulti's and Hvy attackes.

Has so much fun during no proc Cyrodil.
The first days was glorious, piling up stacks of grand overlords.

They are kind of back, its an reason why most want tank builds to be nerfed into oblivion, the tower trolls and rock humpers.
Yes solution is to do not engage even if inside keeps unless you have an dedicated anti tank squad.
You just have to make sure they can not res their friends and they can not solo an keep so ignore and move on.
This does not work well for pug groups who are not on voice and does not have standard procedures for various scenarios.
Pugs who has been nerfed to 12 and is not realistically able to take defended keeps unless run as an militia for an organized group.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Has it? Because I sure haven't noticed this. I see literally the same group of people over and over now when I do battlegrounds. The population seems as low as ever. I'd be surprised if there are even 100 people doing battlegrounds right now it's that bad.

Or was you being sarcastic? I guess it's possible I just keep getting the same groups of people for some bizarre reason.

Zos uses some sort of algebra to match players with similar skill level against each other, so once you play bgs enough, all you will see is the same people over and over.
Make a new toon or new account, and you'll see some fresh blood until the math catches on to you lol

Qualitative is subjective opinion. I think you meant quantitative?

And if you did you should have measurable data to back it up. The fact that I can't tell which one of you is correct tells me you are both just offering an opinion.
