Guild Houses

Are there any plans to implement housing units with the sole purpose of being guild houses? As in a re-work on the current implementation of how guild houses work. As in a housing unit that is not tied to a player account but rather to a guild, with the current guild leader holding all the privileges and guild members being able to have assigned roles.

These would be purchasable with a combination of crowns and guild treasury and would be designed with utility in mind. With option to be purchased with crafting stations and possibly other utilities, at the start. Designated crafting areas, meeting hall, etc...

I agree that flexible ownership to accommodate buying a house in the name of a guild or even transferring it from one guild hall manager to another as people sometimes leave the game and others join the game.

To me, the elephant in the room for any guild discussion is the darn 'sea of crafting tables' that require a warehouse. This system has absurdly outgrown its expandability with the addition of a jewelry table for every set and the ever-increasing number of craftible sets. What is needed is one master attunable table per craft. What you would buy/collect instead of more crafting tables for each set is new additions to a master menu for the appropriate master crafting table. Transitioning from the current to such a new system would take a bit of ingenuity by the devs but it is no bigger an endeavor that transitioning the entire player base from one CP system to a new CP system.

The OP Clearly stated that the guild house would belong to the guild, not any specific player. Obviously it would include the need for ranking access so that various ranks can have various privileges, but the guild house would never be tied to an account as they currently are.

This. I don't think the OP understands how complicated this can truly get. It would just be better to have a system to designate an account as the guild hall, must be a notable house, quick link in the guild info.

I think it's just easier if guilds can have a guild house. For example the guild leader can pick one of their houses to use as a guild house, or they can give officers the power to make their house.

For example look at guild banks. Guild leaders can choose who can withdraw and deposit. Make it so guild leaders can just give the rights for a officer or someone to make there house a guild hall.

Or even better. Let guild leaders look at everyone's main home and pick one to use as a guild hall, with permission from the owner of course.

They can even create a new house type called guild halls for gold that people can buy. The guild halls would have multiple rooms and have a courtyard.

I remember a good idea from someones is have it be a drop down menu.

Im assuming it would work is if you have like 5 attuned stations, you can just use 1 and it has the drop down menu for them.

We really truly need a change in how the guildhouse is implemented in this game. Every time a guild leader leave the game, we have no way of updating the guildhouse when new sets of crafting station are added into the game. Eventually, this guildhouse will be abandoned which is really heartbreaking for the guild members as most of the time, pricey items such as the mundus stones, trial/DPS dummies, the crafting stations and the DPS dummies are bought and donated by many guild members and other guild leaders for the use of the entire guild. It truly is unfair for the guild, the guild members that donated, the remaining guild leaders/management as well as the departing guild leader.

I am 1000% sure that the majority of guild leaders feel the same way about this issue. Please consider making an option to make the guildhouse transferable or just sell a guildhall that can be purchased and owned by the guild and not specific player.

    This so much.

Its ugly and inconvenient the way the current crafting tables are set up. Everything would be so much better if this could be a thing.

It's matter of time - we have more and more new sets, so it can't expand like this forever. There is also mess with furniture recipes, so I hope that they already planned some mayor overhaul for crafting UI.

SWTOR had guild houses when I played it, as long as the systems in place are good there's no reason for drama. The guild owns the house, the GM can give certain members the option to decorate while everyone can donate decorations for it. If ownership of the guild changes the house is still there with the new GM getting the same privileges as the old one.

At the very least, an option to gift a stocked house via support ticket would be a lifesaver and probably even be limited in number to once per account or have some other safeguards added to avoid abuse.

I'm not sure what guilds are going to do if the number of tables exceed item cap. I hope we never find out lol.

And maybe the different sets can be turned into something like a motif page that you can access and learn through the new master attunable station. Just to avoid completely destroying the writ voucher market.

Yeah, just sorta like how you can have a Trader or a Fort active on the Guild, just have one person designate their house as Guild Hall. That way players can shortcut TP to guild hall.

What happens when the guild folds? Not all guilds last forever. Who gets the guild house? Or does it with everything in it just disappear?

I agree it would be better for guilds to be able to have an actual guild hall instead of using a player's house. I don't think it needs a whole new system to accomodate it, they could work like houses do now but the ownership would be tied to the guild (with permissions set by guild ranks) instead of one player.

And yes, it would also be nice to have a more managable system for crafting tables. My guild leader does a great job keeping them all organised, but it must be a lot of work to do that and it limits the space we have for anything else.

In every other MMO I've played if the guild is disbanded and everyone leaves/is kicked out then yes the guild house is lost. But IMO that's actually a bit less of a risk than the current system where "guild halls" are actually one player's house and it only takes that one person leaving or something for the guild to lose their hall. If the guild is disbanded and everyone leaves or is kicked out presumably no one who is in a position to keep the hall will care, or they wouldn't have disbanded the guild.

(In my experience it's relatively rare for guilds to be completely shut down in games where they can obtain expensive upgrades, for exactly this reason. Instead someone, usually the leader or a senior officer, will stay so they can restart the guild when they're ready without having to start over from scratch building up all the upgrades. Especially if the game allows one person to be in more than one guild, so they're not really losing anything by devoting a slot to an inactive guild.)

Right now, it is super crappy for the former GM/house owner of the designated guild house as they feel obligated to buy the chapter or sub to eso+ for the month (also eso+ needed due to inventory limit in houses vs gazillions crafting stations) just so they can add the new attunables crafting station to the guild house, for the sake of the guild members even though they are no longer playing the game. Super crappy. Just make the guildhouse ownership exclusive to the guild, please.

While i see the point, i think its not all bad. At the moment you can have one guildhall for multiple Guilds, i prefer that compared to exclusive Guildhalls.

However an option to transfer ownership of a house would be amazing.
