This game has been out for 7 years. It makes sense that ZOS would want to help newer players in this game to help bring longevity to it and help close the gap with power disparity, especially with it's next gen console update.

That does not really have anything to do with this thread. Do you agree that ZOS has an opportunity to be more transparent when they make changes?

More transparent like as writing all their ideas on these forums for development? Blizzard has private Discords for the top players to get their input about changes, maybe ZOS has this as well?

I don't think you read the thread. Never mind, this is all pretty pointless anyway.

Oh sorry if you think that I missed your point. Wasn't your point for ZOS to show more transparency with their changes to this game before/after implementation? This is an issue that the many MMO's have had with their social media, i.e. WOW forums have had for years from players, that players wishes Blizzard shared their vision of the current status/future of their MMO.

I would like to see some explanations behind their actions as well. Like everyone and their grandmother know that necro is clunky as hell, right? Blastbones and tethers are the main reasons why this class is clunky. Dozens of players asked for rework for years, and yet what we've got in the "big new chapter update" is that boneyard now lasts for 10 seconds instead of 10,5... And totem rework. For real? For real?! Is this really the main problem with this class? I didn't check other classes since I play exclusively necro, but I'm 100% sure it is the same as with necromancer. I personally do not demand or even ask to fix what I think should be fixed. I just DO NOT UNDERSTAND why they doing what they doing. Really. I don't get it. That's why I just want them to explain. Because the less I understand, the more I want to move to other games. I don't like to be confused every time I see another patch note.

ZOS has the Class Rep program which it discusses changes to game with after they’ve gone through internal development to get input on changes. Those players cannot discuss what they’re consulted about so as not to spoil features or rile up forum anger which is a constant thing here.

Nothing like posing an idea such as spellcrafting, having it get out, the player base gets all in a tizzy, and yet it’ll never be close to even getting implemented.

Full transparency doesn’t matter because in the end the players are ultimately consumers. They’re not partners and they have no real say in the direction of the product.

Why is it this way? Because most players just really don’t care. They get a product with regular updates and are happy to play, subscribe, and go on their way. You do have a small vocal contingent that populated the forums which serve to expose flaws in the current design of the product but you can never really consult with them seriously. Their investment in the game is often temperamental and often prone to demanding change that if they don’t get they threaten to cancel their ESO+, post how the game failed them, and quit.

You are just wrong here. There are literally countless examples of how consumer feedback shapes products, and many companies have failed when ignoring the voice of the consumer. Consumers have no decision authority, but they can choose to stop using the product or give it a bad review. They affect the product.

My characters can’t do the same level of content as before at over cp 1200 took way over a 15% cut. Nerfing the players instead of their servers. If the servers can’t do the calculations it’s time for new better more powerfull servers. It’s not like we aren’t constantly pumping money into the game

In the Champion point 2.0 they told us in stream what it was about
-made passives slottable so the server doesn't check every single passive so every single thing the player does
-also changed champion point system so it's easier to create new 'trees' inside of the system

Also I think for putting in points in order to upgrade the passives was meant as a way to feel like the player progresses in the system.

well the same old glitches keep popping up every new patch and chapter, and nerfing the players didn’t fix those did it. You can’t keep putting more load on an already overloaded system and expect it to keep up. At some point your going to have to upgrade the system or it’s going to fall apart all together. The new cp 2.0 is only a stop gap for this issue.

People have been asking for this for years. It's not going to happen. They have divine and infinite wisdom. We're just forum rats.

If I were to bet on that, I'd bet with you. But, I'm hoping that with the Microsoft purchase that things might improve over time. So far, there is some good (PS4 event downtime statement) and a lot of bad (yet more huge CP changes, green tree complaints not addressed, secret Ambrosia nerf).

ZOS also seems to listen when you submit tickets, or post public reviews of ESO. See here for additional information:

Personally I’m looking forward to more nerfs that were promised before. I do think you can bring that parity max level down a bit from where it is now. But CP 2.0 has been fantastic and reinvigorated aspects of the game long dead for many players that were tired of the same cookie cutter max builds.

I guess you want a game with fewer and fewer players as many of us who are not at the top and just want to have fun keep getting nerfed.

Great goal if you want to kill a game!

It would depend on what you mean by "top players". Focusing just on those who do the hardest content will skew the results incredibly.

Many of us just want to have fun. We may spend lots of time, but would not generally be considered a "top player". Ignoring all of us is quite dangerous to long-term stability and even growth.

I agree with all of the initial post... while the changes affect me I usually just shrug them off and continue with my day but after a few years (since I personally started playing) this is really starting to pile up. Normally if I'm on a game's forum or subreddit and I see that there's a staff post I'll go look but when I see that here I can place a bet with 99.9% certainty that it's just a "hey we removed some posts" message. It could be the most important topic in the game and that's all we'll ever get. I don't see myself going anywhere but it pains me to know they are sitting on a goldmine and are just taking it for granted.
