Gifts from the gods or how to benefit from the pantheon of Tamriel

Tamriel has a large and interesting pantheon. But that doesn't really matter when playing our heroes, in my opinion. Wouldn't it be an interesting feature if you could set up usable shrines or small temples in your homes?
Sacrificing at the shrines would then, for example, give you certain bonuses once a day or perhaps useful materials, items, leads etc. The benefits should then of course have a certain connection to the respective deities. And the bonus is greater if you choose a deity characteristic of your race. Therefore, it should matter and be carefully considered which deity (s) you want to worship. And it would also be nice if you could learn a little more about the deities in connection with your personal shrine, e.g. all relevant books could be viewed there. What do you think?

i also playing around with this idea

i think the deity system could be build up like a tier quest

    - start worship the deity you can get buff and also debuff, for example if you worship meridia, you get increase damage on undead, but also have decrease resistant to "dark" type ability

    - do daily that the deity need, again for example meridia, you need to "cleanse" 50 undead, and collect "token" and offer it to the deity, if its nocturnal you need to steal strongbox etc etc

    - each advancement need a trial/test, just like how WW bite work, and also it'll increase your "point" for buff and debuff, probably built it like the new CP system, but i still not sure how this will work nicely, i think they can make it like FF14 job system, what i meant is, at most player can only slot 5 abilities from 3 deities that they worship, and they can mix it up, if they want to put all skill from just 1 deity, they can

    - at most player can only worship 3 deity, if they want to change they can ditch 1, but that means betraying said deity and reset the progress of the previous deity completely, and next time if he want to join the previous deity again, it be a bit slower to level up, just to show determination to come back

    - probably add ability to go to the deity realm, probably theres specialize fishing spot, or farming spot, or probably even new craft gear/world gear

Please no. Leave it to the player's RP. This all sounds good in words, but in reality, we will rather have to choose blessings based on meta and not based on belief. I don't want to pray to Dagon or Namira, because they give% damage.

But you could still choose based on meta. Or do you not want to choose based on meta? Because the current usage of Mundus doesn't exactly feel great from an RP perspective either.

Skryim had standing stones and blessings of the gods. ESO has Mundus stones but gods (or their altars) are only used for respecs. Which is a shame. It would be cool to have a deeper system.

I always like the idea of championing the gods/daedra as an alternative to lycanthropy or vampirisim.

Championing one of the divines would give you small buff, but no downsides. Maybe even an ability with the morphs being inspired by the different depiction of the gods from the racial pantheons.

Championing a Daedra would grant a large buff, but would have a downside big enough to make more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. The skill lines might have some quest or achievement as a requirement ( like doing all the base game quests that feature Sheogorath would be a prerequisite for him, or the 'Mass Murderer' achievement could be a prerequisite for Mephala) They would have at least one ability, maybe even an ultimate. Hircine and Molag Bal are already done, and one could argue that the Fighter's Guild skill line is partially Meridia's doing.

    Good ideas.
Perhaps it could then also be similar as with the new companions, that your reputation with a deity can rise and fall, depending on how well they are worshiped. And certain deities and Daedra should also exclude each other, you cannot worship Meridia and Molag Bal at the same time, e.g.

Yes, you should really feel an impact in your decision and think carefully about it. When it also has negative effects, if you worship Molag Bal for example, then not everyone will decide lightly for him just because it brings more % to damage in battle.
