where are all the bankers?

I've logged in on several alts in all the major cities, (PC, both NA and EU) every day for the last five days, and there's not a banker to be found anywhere. What is the deal? I saw that a few other people mentioned it in zone chat, so it's not just me, but no one else seemed to know what was going on.

It's making the game downright unplayable for me, since it's impossible for me to play the inventory management mini-game that I have to play before I can do anything else.

The only time I remember a banker being missing was at the Daggerfall bank in Glenumbra. Back before I bought a banking assistant I would frequently go to the bank in Daggerfall after doing my crafting writs, only to find that the banker wasn't there even though a lot of players were standing there interacting with her.

What I eventually realized is that I could leave the bank, go run in a big circle around that portion of town that took me around the far side of the enchanter's shop and blacksmithing forge and back to the bank, then the banker would be there. Basically, I was leaving the map cell that contains the bank, going to another map cell, then going back to the bank's map cell, which was forcing the game to reload the game assets for the bank's map cell, or something like that (I'm not sure whether I'm using the correct terminology or describing the behavior correctly). It's the same "trick" people use to force a crafting node to respawn when they have a stack of a particular crafting survey report that they want to use up.

Best guess is it's just a slow-loading problem. Forcing the game to reload the cell as I described before has worked for me, but I never tried /reloadui, that might help.

Bankers are all there for me - not only Ezabi, but the ones in Vivec, Alinor, Daggerfall.... PC NA and EU. Actually, I've never had that problem, and considering my mega-ping due to sat being my only viable connection....

Do you have any inventory or banking addons?

PCEU Glenumbra zone has been a flaming pile of server fail last week but other than that any bankers I've visited (usually the Vivec city open crafting area) have been present and serving.

I haven't noticed any missing bankers. I've used the ones in Belkarth, Alinor, Bal Foyen and Stros M'kai recently, possibly others too but I can't remember which ones, and they were all there.

I've heard there's lots of bugs affecting Glenumbra recently (not sure why it's that map specifically) so if you're using the ones there maybe try going somewhere else and see if that helps.

I've never heard of this happening but an addon did once make a skyshard disappear for me. It was weird, I knew I was in the right spot because it was one I'd gotten before but the skyshard just wasn't there - the entire model was missing. I saw other people run up to where I knew it would be and presumably use it but for me it was just an empty space on the ground.

But disabling all my addons and logging out to character select and back in made it reappear. Then I reenabled them one by one to see which one caused the problem. I can't remember which it was but I remember being surprised that it's nothing to do with skyshards. (This was on the day of an update, which probably didn't help, a lot of my addons were out of date and some were throwing up error messages as a result.)

If they can do that I assume they can affect other things too, potentially including NPCs.

Although if it could be done in a controlled, intentional way I think someone would make an addon just for that. A lot of people would probably like one which could hide Stugga or the "dragons in your homeland" people and other annoying NPCs.

I know some base game zones are bugged right now, such as Glenumbra where is some instances of the zones NPCs go awol. It's not every zone nor every instance so jumping around for a bit should get you a working instance. One of the CMs said something the pther day about them knowing about the issue and being working on it. In the interim all you can do is skip around until you find a banker.

I've had the Daggerfall banker not being there for a while (both Xbox and PC). She reappears when she moves position/changes path, which she can't do if lots of players are interacting with her. /reloadui doesn't fix it.

In the last coupla three weeks, she's been missing permanently, Blandine is missing and Ezabi is missing when summoned. Blandine actually flickers into view for fractions of a second but I can't quite catch her. /reloadui and reloading character doesn't fix it. Restarting game or changing account does.

There are LOTS of bugs in the game at the moment.

A problem of missing NPCs has been acknowledged and should be fixed in the coming patch. I assume that includes bankers, although I haven't had any missing but I did have to relog to make a quest NPC reappear a week or so ago.

Thanks! That is mostly what I wanted to know. I guess other than daily rewards until I get the pet, I will just play other games until the patch.

I don't have any addons of any kind, and never have, but despite trying some of the suggestions above... which all sounded very plausible, and I appreciate the ideas... I've only once this morning, after about six days, been able to find one banker, after logging in many times across all my alts, many zones/cities, and both servers. It's just not worth it at this point.

Try an empty town, I also have problems in highly populated cities, bankers and stablemasters are often invisible.

we are still around, but with the already upcoming nerf of the nerfed cp, it's not as much uptime as usual in the past

I was in Daggerfall the other day with a low level toon not only was the banker missing so was the the enchanter when I went to buy some Glyphs. Although the enchanter would flash into view and vanish again quickly before I could select her. Also my clannfear would not show up in Daggerfall but when I moved to other cities everything was fine and had no problems until I went back to Daggerfall.

Sounds like something that needs either a repair or re-install, could be some files got corrupted in an update-download, try repair first, if no success, do try a remove-reinstall ^^

Daggerfall banker disappears on me all the time. Usually going in and out of Captain Margaux's house fixes it. Try leaving and returning to the zone to see if it fixes it for you.

Probably not.

But, with any with consistent in game weirdness on the PC version, it is a quick and easy thing to eliminate them as a suspect. Especially after any updates to the game or a mod.

Now, there is an Addon that makes players pets go away, by spawning Pacrooti. So, Addons can affect what is seen in the world. There was an addon, I could not ever get it to work, that was supposed to Mute annoying NPCs. So, theoretically, addons can affect what you hear.

the amount of players interacting with her is not making her stay though - the banking dialogue and menus will just close and she is moving to the other side of the room in Daggerfall. I guess that is due to people wanting to steal from the strong boxes there, so she has to move once in a while - and she certainly does, despite people interacting with her.

This is still happening for me on Xbox - nowhere near as frequently as it used to but the bug is still there.

Glenumbra often develops a leak and sinks, a remedy is to switch zones and back (visiting outlaws does that) and hope ending in a still floating instance. I haven't noticed any missing npcs recently but then lately I've mostly hunted off path skyshards and other stuff I've missed with my current character under construction. Vivec open crafting area has always been fine for me. (But expect next time I login after posting this I find the asteroid has finally crashed into city.)

It's covid they are working from home .. seriously this has happened before and when it did I logged out and back again to see the bankers.
