Crafted Sets Need Some Love

At one time they were supposed to be largely equivalent to dropped sets. This is certainly no longer the case.

I must admit to bias in that I will not use anything other than what I make. As I have been doing this since the beta, I have serious capability as my set of crafters are leveled and can make pretty well anything craftable. I would like that extended a bit, and some actually really nice sets incorporated into the game for us crafters.

Its about time.

It would be nice to be able to craft anything from stickerbook, I don't see how it would unbalance the game either. You'd still need to collect the actual set pieces, and then you could decide whether to simply reconstruct them or craft them yourself. I'd also like to see either the armor on belt/gloves brought up to match the other pieces or being able to craft sets in different weights, kinda sucks to have to wear two heavy sets and lose armor on helm/shoulders compared to gloves/belt if you want to run 1/1/5. The changes to armor passives and penalties were supposed to expand the number of viable setups, but characters that are forced to run certain sets that only drop in one weight are still very much limited in how they wear those sets.

definitely agree with OP, crafted sets need a buff. i also prefer to make stuff myself, and it allows for build variety due to armor weight options. :)
i doubt zos are gonna significantly buff them tho, as the strong sets are one of the main reasons people keep running and buying new content.

while i like the idea of being able to craft collected stuff instead of spending transmute stones, i think it's very unlikely they will allow it, as the transmute stones are a major incentive to keep doing group content, and removing that necessity would likely make a lot less people do that content

What dropped sets are you comparing them to? The top meta sets? Old stand-bys like Julianos, Hundings Rage, and Shacklebreaker are still going strong. There's several crafted sets that get niche, but solid use in PVP, like Fortified Brass and Mechanic Acuity.

    I agree. Especially TBS.

I liked Twice Born Star, but having to go reacquire the second mundus stone if I swapped my gear made it too much of a pain to keep using on my Stam sorc.

Exactly - all these sets are good enough to clear every content in the game. No buffs needed.

    What ???

    Julianos / Hundings
    NMA
    Mechanical Acuity
    Morkuldin
    Eternal Hunt
    Stuhn's Favor
    Aetherial Ascension / Fortified Brass
    Orgnum's Scales
Night Mother's Gaze (useful in some case)

I'm sorry, but a lot of crafted set are really good. Not BIS, but still useful.
    I'm a single character man.
    Stamblade. Khajiit. Mostly pvp.
    And...that's it.

I love TBS. Hopefully they can rework it a bit. Someone here said something like an amplifier on each Mundus. Idk. Or something similar to the Mag/Stam four-piece from MA.

I agree that crafted sets in ESO are strong, especially compared to craftable stuff in WoW. I think TBS and MA could use a buff or adjustment though. Either way I concur that even vTrials are probably completable even if everyone used crafted sets, from Tank to Healer to DPS.

Once they get finished standardizing every buff from every sources in the game we should be at a place where in theory every buff is of similar value. At least given the same source, like a 2-4 piece set bonus.

That’s when I’d love to see them actually let master crafters alter one of them. What if I could pick one single trait and exchange it. What if I wanted one of the health benefits from Ebon armor to be a Stam boost?

If they actually feel confident that they have standardized the values this wouldn’t be broken to swap one single bonus, and crafters would matter tremendously AND it would give a new depth to customizing a build.

What about other crafted sets that are pretty much useless?
