LUI Extended Combat Text bugging out

I have been using the LUI Extended addon for quite a while. Recently I enabled Combat Text under Module Settings. So now I get those messages that roll across your screen when you do damage or take healing. Lately I keep getting big black box error messages that block my vision when I'm fighting until I close the box. The text says the error is related to LUI Extended/modules/Combat Text. And indeed, I don't get the error messages when I turn off Combat Text. Anyone else seeing this problem or have advice on fixing it - other than giving up on Combat Text?
