Hello
I have a question.
I'm used to do a lazy farming round (chests, plants, trees...) in Eastmarch on a daily basis, fully safe apart from 1 bear and 2 skeevers that can't be avoided. Ideal path to chill for lazy players like me. Only today it was different: right before, I was there and a group of 5 players suddenly ran to me, red names (like enemies) and attacked me. I let them kill me (had zero interest in fighting) and once I was dead, I could see them run away further. I just revived and kept going my usual round. I didn't see them again.
Therefore my question: can other players turn into enemies in PvE areas like Eastmarch? Or were those NPCs of a type I don't know yet (I'm newbie)?
Note that it wasn't a group of NPCs like those spawning with the blue/white symbols marking on the floor. I know those. It wasn't that.
Even if the spawning location was not on my way? Because they arrived from a side opposite from where I was myself coming from.
Lol remember back just after returning, I was stealing in Orcinium, some dropped an DK standard on me, turned around and saw an huge orc, scared me a lot so excellent trolling.MorganaBlue wrote: »THey were NPCs. You will NEVER be killed by another player outside of Cyro or IC unless you accept a duel.

Incidentally there's an option you can turn on (I think it's under combat or interface) which puts a glow around characters, colour-coded by their reaction to you (enemies, allies, neutral) which can help distinguish players and NPCs, especially ones who will attack you. If you're on PC you can also get an addon like Azurah which gives you other options, like colouring their health bar or name by their reaction. I prefer that because I find it less...intrusive than the glow, I'd rather colour code something which is already there than add another bit of UI, but it means everyone has an option even if you can't or don't want to use addons.
