hireling for jewelry

Has anyone at Zos considered offering a hireling for Jewelry now that Summerset is going to be part of base game in the summer? It would be very helpful to get a chance to even get dust for some of the hard to find trait items or platings.

    1) Nothing has been said of Summerset being rolled into the base game. For that matter Vvardenfell still isn’t part of the base game technically.

    2) Add that the classes of Warden/Necromancer are still paywalled. Why would Jewerly crafting be any different. And for that matter why would antiquities also be different? Companions itself is confirmed to be locked behind owning the chapter.

    3) Adding hirelings goes against ZOS’ intention of jewlery crafting being a luxury skill. Optional but also requiring work. And by work I mean that their intention that jewlery is best farmed either through zone, accomplishment, or PVP.

    Your best hope is to get JC daily on all your chars and hope for surveys.

    Doing Writs, ironically, is the about the best way to get Mats for Jewelry Crafting.

    As long as you don't do the Master Jewelry Writs you get.

    The Morrowind chapter — including Vvardenfell and Wardens — was rolled into the base game with all new purchases from mid-2018 on. It’s considered base game by the devs.

    It remains separate for people who bought the game before that change, which really creates two camps in terms of “base game.” (That’s why the game was technically renamed with the change.) But it has been part of the base game for coming up on 3 years. Unlike, say, IC, which is free but not base game for anyone.

    Doing 5 dailies per day: Uses up 25-30 platinum per daily, you get 7 back from the chest, 3 from decon, which is a loss of 15-20 per daily quest. Hirelings on average give 5 of their resource, which means 5 times 5 = 25 for a day. Which is almost a free daily per day, for having a hireling. This quickly adds up!
    Also, why do the jewelry crafting dailies only give 7 resources back per turn-in, instead of 15 like all the other craftingprofessions?

    Edit: Just did some dailies, and fixed an error above, which makes it even worse than it was.

    All the hirelings could do with a refresh, I used to quite look forward to reading about their various adventures. But yes, the lack of a JC hireling is a bit bizarre.
    So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

    Because the devs think that making the resources scarcer makes the profession “harder” and therefore include it as part of their philosophy that jewelrycrafting is only for “serious” crafters. In reality it just makes it more time-consuming and annoying.

    Yups, and not just that. It also makes it harder to farm, as some players specifically only look for these resource nodes. Which double hits regular players: More material used up, and harder to farm.

    Some of the jewelry crafting trait materials are extremely hard/expensive to get as well.

    We'll probably get a jewel crafting hireling the same time we get an alchemy one.
