PVP Dueling Arena?

Anyone else think it would be good to have a dueling arena. Something setup similar to the hammerdeath area everyone gathers around the edge to watch on and offers duels if you accept you can offer a bet of gold between the other player or not. You can only enter into the dueling area if you have accepted a duel once both players inside duel starts in 10 seconds. The dueling area is clearly visible from the stands so other players can watch on have a seating area, brewer cooking fire and what not. Could be fun. Just thoughts sure people have better ideas of how it could work.

Yeah this would be interesting but I think adding gold / betting to it would just encourage toxicity and people would rather just duel in their homes instead or at one of the usual popular duelling spots.

I have been advocating for pvp enabled zones in our homes. I would love to host team fights in my arenas I have built.
    PvP needs more love.

    Dueling home? Like this?

Also the cold harbor home can easily be made into an arena. There are several viable homes that fit this need.

If you can only bet with the other person I couldn’t see how you would get more than usual. You will get sore losers but you already have that aspect of toxicity in any pvp game I couldn’t see it making it worse you get pretty bad toxicity in auridon already without dueling. RuneScape seems to be able to do it fine haha.

That would be good that should already be a thing really. Only downfall as that you could only get guild mates there so everyone couldn’t gather there.

Yeah that looks sick you should already be able to have a dueling arena in your home. Something overland where everyone could gather without having to be in a guild or invited I was wanting. The home idea would be easier for them to implement though.

A ) That home was available and will be available again.

B ) I think any home can have duels in it right now.

C ) I think any “designated area” will probably not work. The player base will go where they want to go, not where they are told to go.

Yeah I do agree people will go where they want. Nothing should change in regards to where you can duel. It’s just at the moment if your not in a guild or have any friends that play where do you go to duel?
I can sit at vuhkel guard for hours and only get a few duels. If I knew of any area everyone meets up I would be straight there. I think having bets would work better in a designated area also.

I can agree OP. Outside of the home you can purchase with the arena setup there's not specific dueling zone. Since PvP generally gets overlooked on new updates/chapters it would be cool to have an addition of sorts.

I will say though there is still something special about all the little unofficial dueling spots throughout Tamriel...you all know where they are if you want to throw down.

Honestly only played it on RuneScape classic back in the day haven’t been on in a long time seen you can get it on mobile these days. Shady in what way?

What's wrong with Hammerdeath arena or the Colossseum of the Old Ways? Except nobody ever duels there because they're out in the sticks. Put a wayshrine, merchants, guild traders and crafting stations in Hammerdeath arena round the edge and it might stand a chance of capturing the dueling action from Vulkhel Guard and such places. Especially if you add a local effect so that in that location the crowns of groups get a number showing the size of their group by the crown icon (and you can see the crowns of other groups) and crowns of equally sized groups can challenge each other to x-on-x brawls.

Hammerdeath arena already has a merchant and Soul Shriven wayshrine is a quick straight ride (no longer than any shrine to an Alik'r dolmen). There's even Hammerdeath Workshop crafting area by the back, but they cut that off easy access when they added Hammerdeath Bungalow.

It's always been a really nice asset that's sadly underused. At least they stuck some Jester stuff there this year so people know it exists.

Definitely sounds like a good idea with multiple player duels.

Possibly if there was a wayshrine bang on it might make a difference or just the added bank, merchant and guild traders. If you got XP for winning duels on location might bring more people there also.
First time I had been to hammerdeath was the jester festival and looked great wondered if it was used for anything else.

You mean like the Hammerdeath area? Why not just go there?

I think as people are saying above no one is going to those areas as far as I know so I would be there alone haha.

Which I’m saying that I don’t think it’s a lack of people not wanting to duel rather a lack of organization and reward.

If hammerdeath arena was just up from vulkhel guard or similar it would be packed.

I mean, the absence of life in Hammerdeath already shows that people aren't interested in a separate pvp Arena. There's already dueling bets, dueling/team brackets, and other PVP activities that are player-led (at least on PC-NA).

The reason people duel at the Wayrest pledge-givers and on the Vulk wayshrine has nothing to do with the ease-of-access, but more to do with the population of players already there. If you're off to the side in a different arena space with only the handful of people looking to duel - even less looking to bet - and MAYBE a couple on-lookers (which are very few even in populated areas), then it's going to feel empty, less attractive, and people will go back to the populated areas despite there being an "official" system in place. The only way these areas would be populated is if you remove dueling from everywhere BUT the "official" area(s).

So you don’t think if a reward was offered to duel in a certain area like XP it wouldn’t attract players? or team duels and being able to make official bets with another player only in the designated area.

I get what your saying but basically means you have to be apart of a guild if you want to make bets etc as you couldn’t really trust a random player to pay up if they lost without a system in place.

At this stage dueling just seems like a bit of side fun and not actually a official type of PVP.

They are just ideas on what more could be done.

I enjoy deathmatch BGs just not the other game modes be good if there was a separate queue.

    Even 5v5 or 10v10 BGs.
