War Mount CP Perk Bug in Cyrodiil - PS4/NA

Twice now I’ve been hit by player skills while riding to a keep in Cyrodiil and it has caused my War Mount CP to stop working. I am not sure what I got hit with the first time, but today it sounded like Poison Injection.

After getting hit with the player skill, the mount stamina bar shows up onscreen and the mount’s stamina starts to decrease.

Once I got to a safe place I checked to make sure that CP Star was still slotted and it was.

The mount stamina bar continued to show onscreen until I went to the CP screen and then it disappeared after that.

Not a great workaround considering how busy Gray Host campaign has been lately.

Please look into a fix.

War Mount removes all mount stamina costs "outside of combat."

Once you get hit with an enemy ability, you're in combat. And you may continue to be in combat until you leave Cyro, due to the combat bug.

Ah I didn’t realize that.

They should really fix that “stuck in combat” thing, it can go on for ten minutes after you stop fighting.

Like I said though, going to the CP screen fixed it and I don’t think I was “stuck in combat” then.

Yeah, it can be bad. I think the combat bug has to do with someone you’ve recently been in combat with then getting into (or continuing to be in) combat with someone else. I haven’t tested it, though.

It’s a perennial problem (sometimes worse, sometimes better...or at least less bad), and it definitely impacts several of the new CP stars (not just War Mount but also Steed’s Blessing) as well as the ability to swap at all.

It seems if you wait long enough, the mount stamina bar will disappear again, but it takes quite a while.

I have had the bar appear because I got hit by players or even NPC guards, rode for a while and then stopped, the bar disappeared, then started riding again and it reappeared. By this time I was definitely not stuck in combat. You can always tell if you are stuck in combat because if you look at the map the edges glow red.

I’m just curious what conditions are supposed to be met to make this combat effect go away. It’s certainly not when any damage over time skills from an attack have worn off, it lasts much longer than that. It doesn’t seem to be when you get a certain distance away, either.

I would have claimed that War Mount was the best use of cp points up to this point, but having it not be able to be used so long after getting into combat is aggravating.
