Things like that vary for me.

This afternoon everything was running lickety-split.

This evening I initially had trouble logging in, followed by things running a bit sluggishly.

I guess it depends on fluctuating variables, like how many people are logged in on a particular server at any particular time, or how many people are in a particular zone, or instance of a zone, etc.

    On the Series X...

Load screens have been fast and initial load up of game has been great.

Wayshrine'ing and loading "outside" of houses has been fast and convenient since the update.

It's made doing all these writs during the festival on multiple toons...

waaaaaaay less painful then previous years.

Varies for me too. I was loading faster earlier as well and thought it was fixed... then i got " requesting character load.." for 30 seconds before it actually started loading which took another 30-40 seconds.

    from character selection screen?
pc? addons make quite the difference...

the waiting for character load has been the worst in ages for me.. rest seems normal.

Well, it depends. When I jump from zone to zone, it takes about 5 seconds, but when I log in.... Man, that's a whole different story. I think the difference is that once you're logged in, it's just our hardware that's responsible for loading everything, whereas when you're logging in there's a lot of additional client-server communication and that's what causes the significant delays.

A universe based on antimatter that seems to be dangerously bleeding into our universe.

xbox one S with external SSD:

    yes. Travelling is much faster.

I play on EU and NA.

NA always took a little longer to load, now only NA takes long, as the data about the other players has to be synced "over the ocean".
But EU, where I don't have such network delays, stunningly fast now.

A few updates ago it got a bit faster for me. I used to be able to read several forum posts and reply while waiting for a loading screen, then it got to the point where I was often only able to get through one or two posts. But it does vary a lot. Sometimes it's back to what it was before, other times it's quick enough that I don't really have time to do anything before it's done.

I haven't noticed any changes since the last update though.

Initial log-in toon pretty slow but generally faster otherwise, however last PM PC-NA was unplayable for a time due to lag and drops. Waited a couple of hours and was better. These events make it tougher to play smoothly.

For me it's the opposite. I haven't had this long loading screens since the week after Greymoor dropped and back then they took a good ten minutes upon character change, 7 minutes minutes to change zones and 3-5 minutes with inter zone porting.

    So no, I can't say I have.

I got the new Xbox just before the patch, so my load screens are rapid now anyway.

Logging in an out was like a minute thing previously.

    Like under 10 seconds now.

I have World of Warcraft and ESO loaded on the same NVMe M.2 SSD. WoW takes 3 seconds max for a character to load into the game; ESO still takes at least 30 seconds upwards to a minute for character loads. It hasn't changed before and after the last major update.

Which loading screens? Loading into a character takes way to long, and that definitely does not feel shorter. It takes long enough that I want to get up and do something else while I wait, which I often do.

Wayshrine? Seems OK on both Xbox and PC. Feels faster on PC, though.

Really fast on PC NA at this time of day; really slow on PC EU because it's on peak there, not off peak like on NA. Now, "really fast" for me is less than a minute from login to character load; "really slow" is over two minutes from login to character load.

I have noticed my character selection screen loads quicker since the last update (like the OP this could just be me though thinking it is). As far as loading screens in-game I haven't really noticed a change.

Jokes apart, it was a legit question, Ever since the last update loading screens feels a bit better on my pc, It used to take 2 - 3 minutes mostly from the initial screen to enter the game, right now, i get my game loading in less than a minute

Everything was faster on XB1 for about 2 hours, but that's because I uninstalled and reinstalled the game entirely, cleared everything on my SSD, and essentially factory reset my Xbox. ESO has severe memory leaks, so brace yourself.

It's really unfortunate that every time I hear "this will improve performance", like after the massive CP nerf introduced in Flames of Ambition, I literally cringe because I know things are going to get much worse. It may improve performance when the game is running on an internal server that is not connected to the internet with a total of 3 players on it.... but in the real world every patch just makes things worse and worse. If it were up to me I'd push back all new content and the Gates of Oblivion yearlong adventure to next year and fix this, in addition to firing all the upper management of ZoS, because I don't know how they sleep at night dumping new content into the game while at the same time allowing game-breaking bugs and memory leaks to go to the live servers.

And to think, we pay for this! /endrant

Yes, loading is a bit faster since U29 went live. On the other hand, we now have UI lag.
