Tips on How to Make Gold on Console
I’ve been meaning to make this post for weeks now, but with yet another multi-page economy thread going on I figured now is the right time for it.
Please note that I have never GM’d a trade guild. My tips will not make you the richest person in Tamriel but you can absolutely make a few hundred grand a week. I highly encourage anyone with other tips to also chime in. Frankly I don’t care if someone moves in on my territory. It’s a game and I’m smart enough to adjust if need be. Happy to help the ESO poor out there.
Sub Level 50 - Just play the game. Use your time to level skills and worry about gold later. There is literally nothing you can buy at this stage that you absolutely need.
Champion Status - You do not need to wait until CP160 to farm for gold or play the market. Certain mats may be gated from you but trait gems will not be.
Trait Gems vary in price from nearly useless (a stack of 200 going for 3000 gold isn’t paying off your student loans to the Mages Guild) but at the top end they can bring a crazy high amount.
Are you a PVPer? Buy dawn-prisms with your AP. They commonly go for 20k on console.
Are you a master crafter? Buy Guilded Wax. It sells for 30k.
Ultimately the best tip I can give anyone is simply to take inventory of how you play on a day to day basis and sell those rewards to players you have never interacted with. PVP players make gold selling to PVE players and vice versa.
Another tip is to get into a big guild in good spot. 70k for a month sounds massive ... it’s not. That’s what I make in an average day almost exactly.
Do you have a craft bag? Do you really need 2400 alkahest? Do you really need 4600 rekuta? Are you ever going to use those Chromium Grains? If you never expect to use it, sell it.
Use your 30 spots. List things to sell. You’re better off selling an item for 90% of it’s expected price than to never sell it at all.
Do you have a max crafter? Do you already have thousands of rubedo leather? Well you have enough, so start vendoring dropped loot. 74 gold is better than 1 new mat that you’ll never use.
These are just a few very small tips. Feel free to try them yourself if you’re ESO poor. Please add on anything you may deem helpful.
