Blackwood Prologue question (Spoilers inside)

I've just finished the Blackwood prologue, and enjoyed it for the most part.

However, at the end, we're expected to believe that Mehrunes Dagon just opens up a portal for you to go back to Tamriel? Just step right through, he says.

Wouldn't it have been easier/more believable if we had to run back to the portal we entered through, trying to escape all manner of things? I mean, this is end of the world stuff, isn't it?

Am I missing something?

Not trying to gripe, I love ESO and can't wait for Blackwood, but this just seemed too easy and convenient.

"Just seemed too easy and convenient" is a pretty good summary for 90% of the stories in ESO and the game itself tbh.

A better situation would be you using your powers of teleportation to teleport yourself out of there but it seems ZOS forgot we are the Vestige given how they have us get called mortal every 10 seconds even though the Vestige can revive whenever they are killed which would mean they are immortal.

You definitely have a point here.

Apparently Mehrunes Dagon is quite the gentleman...

    Oh, you bested my cultist?

Let me get the door for you.

Or at least, that Mehrunes Dagon will try to recruit this one and Eveli.

Also, wasn’t Eveli carrying the book? Wouldn’t he have sensed it?? (Overdue library book!!! You shall pay!!)

    More plot holes to ponder.....

This whole recruitment angle would actually be quite interesting.

And yes, the (overdue library!!!) book... plot holes aplenty - unless Eveli left it with her brother.

Who knows? I guess we are left to speculate until June 1st.

    Yes he does.
After destoying Molag Bal you spawn on Meridias plain. And there a white ghostly copy of you waits. You interact with it and you are reunited with your self.

If you play through the main quest, Coldharbor main quest and then do the last one of the old main quests then yes. It all ends with you injuring Molag Bal badly enough that most of the souls he absorbed to do the planemeld escapes, yours among them. Meridia is then so "kind" to stuff it back into your body so technically I guess you're half-mortal after that? And when I say kind I mean the chick definitely have ulterior motives and I'm just waiting for the pther shoe to drop.

Yeah, that part was very out of place. He's the prince of DESTRUCTION. And he's like "yeah.. you're trying to ruin my plans.. let me give you a free ride out of here" So weird.

Wait for the story. They all have something to hide. I guess he too.

Maybe Varen comes back... he had sort of good deeds after reading the books of the proloque.

More like you happen to be helpful to Meridia in achieving her long term plan against Molag Bal. Don't think she's helping you, she's using the fact that you're there and going against Molag Bal to the max.

And she's a Daedric Prince, of course she has ulterior motives. None of them can be trusted, that includes Meridia and Azura no matter how "benign" they may seem they're not good and the do not care about mortals. They're just less overtly destructive and oppressive than the rest but they're just as amoral.

The roleplay value has gone through the rockbottom again.
I don't see why a devote templar of Stendarr (for example) would even consider jumping at the whistle of some dremora,
let alone team up with her and help her in a shady plan of which she doesn't even want to explain details.
[snip] write a new counter faction / different path and companion so we could actually have something that resembles a choice?
And this for 40 €, a price that can get you awesome roleplaying games with complex quest writing, instead of this linear bog. The Deadlands looked awesome (with Neat Perfection Reshade), got my dose of nostalgia.

    That's what they all said.

At this point we've stopped Molag Bal, Nocturnal, Clavicus & Mephala's major plot to take over Tamriel.
Surely if Mehrunes isn't a complete moron he knows this.

And he's like "Sure, he's a free portal - go ruin my plans aswell"

In the end we all know how it ends.. We're gonna stop him.

She's been in every Elderscrolls game since at least original single player Morrowind. She was married to Robert Altman, one of the owners of Zenimax. Wonder if she inherited his share of the company after his death? Anyway she also had songs on the Fallout 4 soundtrack, so definitely a multitalented performer.
