Please allow us to turn off camera movement in crafting tables and when opening runeboxes.

My wife suffers from many chronic illnesses, and one of her symptoms is intense motion sickness. She's able to navigate the game and do dungeons (and hardmodes), trials, etc. But she experiences a lot of nausea from crafting tables and runeboxes. Like me, you maybe never have noticed the slow spin the camera does around the crafting table when you enter it. This causes my wife severe motion sickness and nausea. She hates it, she thinks it's stupid that this small thing causes her so much discomfort - but the fact of the matter is that it does. Additionally, when opening runeboxes (at least on Xbox), the camera zooms out from its position and then zooms in again when you take the items.

Please, please let us turn these camera features off!

Opening daily writs boxes is a crazy spin, and it should be possible to turn it off in settings, agree. I have no motion sickness, yet my eyes hurt a lot from this stupid mech.

I have noticed it. I noticed it more when I upgraded my cpu to a 6 core 12 thread processor. I was not happy with the enhanced spin. I hope you get that answer because I would like to use it.

The camera, and your toon, are constantly spinning around when you interact with objects or do various actions in your menu. They should put an option in like they do for the assassination camera so you can turn all of that nonsense off.

There are a lot of things in the game that seem like somebody thought, "This will be neat! Let's do this!" and there was nobody around to say, "But what other effects might it have?"

    A lot lot.

Definitely! Does turning the screen shake slider all the way down help you at all?

I'm lucky in that my vertigo isn't triggered by camera movement or bright lights. But even back in my days in WoW and RIFT there were disclaimers in the documentation that some people might be affected by certain light and camera effects.

Really the devs should do something for people with these issues.

    Yep.

At a minimum, make it a toggle for those of us without vertigo who don't mind.

But consider this the same kind of QOL feature as colorblind mode, etc.

Many games, for instance, give you the option to turn off camera shake.

This is one of the main reasons I wish there was an option to auto open all containers and take contents. Providing you have the inventory space required and if not, it just leave the container for you to open later. What a big QOL issue this would be.

Now I currently take the time to position my character so that nothing is directly behind them so not to have some object suddenly appear in zooming window. Makes it worse for me.

The zooming at crafting stations doesn’t really bother me a lot but then again, I only craft once a week for the entire week so maybe that’s why I haven’t really noticed it much. Side not on console at least the zooming in at the blacksmithing station is the best way to view your character up close. We really need a better zoom at the outfit station.

While we are at if I wish we could adjust some brightness is some menus such as when scrying and some mounts that leave an effect of the ground when summon it causes a short bright flash.

Stay safe and enjoy the journey 😊

PS. ZOS stop the micromanagement of the green tree 🥺

We play on console, so addons aren't an option. I'm hopeful that since there's an addon for it on PC, that it wouldn't be difficult to implement those options on consoles / base game.

I second this request. While I don‘t suffer from motion sickness, I don’t see the point in the continuous camera swivel and I‘ve often wondered what the point of it is. I‘ve been paying attention more since I first saw this thread and realized - especially now that we‘re opening truckloads of boxes - that I tend to look away and fix my eyes on the menu instead of on my character.

Please give us an option to toggle camera movement and camera shaking off (the moment after the final boss fight in DC II *does* make me nauseous...

Not sure about the slow sweep at crafting stations, but for the interface camera issue...

I believe this came about early in the game when they made a change due to how the character and map marker were displayed while in the interface.

Say you where heading north and stopped to check map or inventory or whatnot...

Your toon would turn to face screen AND the map marker would do the same!

This would give the impression you were heading "south" although your toon was really still facing north in game (but not in the interface). You'd leave interface and continue now south not realizing the issue.

This was super confusing and made getting around an irritation.

    As expected...

Many people complained and they updated the game shortly there-after, dis-associating the map marker from the toon turning to face the screen and keeping it actually facing the way your toon was facing in game, but this caused a zoom out when interacting with anything.

It's been so long since this change happened and has been this way since (that I recall), I'm not sure if this created this issue or if it was there even before this and exacerbated it.

But it is something they need to re-address as it's been around long enough to be a major pita for everyone and could definitely benefit from a little QoL improvement!

I've never noticed it, but 100% agree that when something like this is added someone familiar with designing for accessibility should review and there should be an option to turn it off. So many people shouldn't have to suffer over something not essential.

If you don't (or can't) use addons, you can greatly reduce the camera motions while opening containers in your inventory by turning the camera yourself so you're looking at your character head-on before you start rummaging through your inventory. There may still be some camera movement as it zooms in and out, but the crazy spinning will be gone.

As for interacting with the crafting tables, I actually like being able to see my character from the side while they're crafting.
