It has been almost one month ago since ZOS optimized the servers.

Cited from Flames-of-ambition update 29 natch potes:
"Reduced load times when moving between zones.
Optimized the threading and rendering processes on the client and load distribution on the server."

I haven't noticed any difference. And it still takes forever to log a character in.

Can you clarify the difference between “server upgrade” and “server optimization”?

The first phrase suggests to me that they replaced the servers with better ones, which is not at all evident in the patch notes you quoted. We know from what Matt and Gina have said that they do not consider their server replacement to be a server upgrade in the sense of anything likely to produce a noticeable improvement in performance.

No improvements in interzone changes, intrazone changes are the same. Character screen to loaded in game is absolutely horrible. I use to be able to swap characters in less than 30 seconds and sometimes as fast as 15 seconds. Now i get " requesting character load..." for 15 seconds to a couple minutes depending on how busy the game is. Then another 15-30 seconds for the actual loading which use to take 10-20 seconds a few months ago.

Character swap has got so bad that i play a game on my phone while swapping characters.

You literally just quoted my own post back at me verbatim.

Please answer the question, because I’m currently unaware of any evidence that the servers were upgraded in any way.

I did read. It says “optimized,” not “upgraded.”

    Thank you for rephrasing accordingly!

OP edited the text in the title and poll description to say “optimizations” instead of “upgrades” to clarify. The “fixed it for you” was meant literally, not as the sarcastic FTFY.

It really doesn't matter since server performance starts to suck every year around beggining of the april due to influx of players hyped by new chapter announcments , in game events and free trial of the game.

Something is causing regular crashes for me... I'm not just getting c2ds, my entire PC is crashing.

It's not a hardware issue. It literally only happens when I'm playing ESO and the issue only started when U29 hit. I guess I'll try reinstalling ESO, but it's a major pain. It seems to happen the most frequently in Vivec City, but that may be because I spend a lot of time there. It's never happened in dungeons, trials, or overland...

Not enough difference either way. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I wonder if some announcements are made as a sort of placebo.

The loading screens between zones are much quicker. It doesn't even take that long to load into Craglorn. Logging into a character however takes the longest loading.

This is my experience as well.

If anything, the last few patches have been a regression in load times. They were only about half as long six months ago.

The zone loading kept getting longer and longer over the years so any improvements seems more like a relief than an improvement, because it certainly doesn't feel like it loads faster than back when the loading was fast.

However, the requesting load of characters still just keeps getting longer...

Longer initial loading screens, swifter switches with my characters though. I mean after the initial log-in.

I can't tell if it's improved loading times or not, but it definitely has introduced a regular crash to desktop when switching between zones or instances, and sometimes when reloading characters. I've talked to other players experiencing the same thing but the most I can get out of ZOS tech support is the usual "disable your addons" scapegoating, so I hope that someone vaguely competent is actually looking into the crash logs I've been sending them and trying to address the problem.

    A naive hope, perhaps.

There's also a really irritating bug where the rendering process introduces all sorts of weird graphics artifacting similar to what one might see when their video card is failing. My video card isn't failing, through, as other people have posted screenshots to the forums with the same visual rendering problems.

    Well this problem I have had for over a year and a half is still happening;

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/541794/spontaneous-system-crash-issue-with-video

I did not know about the new servers, and I have not noticed any improvements.
