Another thing why DS is so powerful: Executioner. Is it just me or is that skill super, super fast? It’s a lot faster than other executes in the game, at least from my experience. It activates instantly (?). Compared to that Impale from Nightblades or any other executes just feel super slow.

What can I say, practice animation canceling.

Actually it's not about practice. Executioner is simply much faster, it hits way faster than any other execute.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

Its the same speed as any other true instant cast melee skill. Which tbf is significantly faster than other skill types like ranged projectiles, but it is still nothing special. Assassin's blade and killers blade (unmorphed and stam morph nb executes) are the same speed, while impale morph for example is definitely slower (due to being ranged projectile).

They’re absolutely not. I was especially referring to those skills. Executioner is / feels way faster than Killer‘s Blade (I said Impale but what I meant was in fact the melee version). I don’t know what it is, but Executioner is just another level of instant melee skill. Or Executioner is just easier to combine with another attack, to queue them in line. DS > Executioner often hits like one skill, which makes this combo oftentimes so problematic.

Yes, I've said this before myself. Dswing is an incredibly strong move on it's own but when the weapon line also offers an execute that fires instantly and reliably when people hit execute range that's what really puts it over the top. I swear EVERY class execute I try to use fails to go off when I get someone in the range and only fires after they've healed themselves back out. But when I'm on my DK and hit someone with Dswing and put them in execute it's game over because like you said Executioner fires off so quickly after it's like one move.

Killers blade and Impale just feel clunky and almost feels like your character is using it in slow motion due to the animation idk how else to describe it.

Simple dizzy him back 😁. Honestly just build tankier. Use line of sight. Heal and create a window of counter attack or group up against said opponent.

Yeah when I use those executes I feel like I’m stuck in slow motion. I have no idea what this is, but the difference between Executioner and the NB execute is day and night.

Speed, dodge roll, Slippery CP, erratic movement in general. Most importantly: Dizzying won't kill you on it's own. It's the Subterranean, Power of the Light, Dawnbreaker etc. combo that kills you. That doesn't happen right away. You can hear the distinctive sound of being Dizzying spammed. Tick, tick ... tick, tick ... (light attack + Dizzy). After the second time, or so, break free (if necessary) and dodge roll. Don't dodge roll all the time. You'll run out of stamina. Don't dodge roll in a straight line. You're an easy target. Dodge roll towards a tree or something you can run around. This is assuming you're caught in a Dizzying attack, possibly from behind. Your main goal is for that not to happen in the first place. As a sorc, keep your distance with Streak. As a necro, keep your Blastbones up and hide slightly behind it, if you can. You'll be hard to target. Wear Engine Guardian, for that matter. As a nightblade use a combination of Shadow Image, Shadowy Disguise, high speed and dodge rolls. If you are wielding a bow, make sure you dodge roll on the bow bar for the speed bonus. Actually: Cast Vigor first. In general, cast a heal or a shield into a dodge roll. The game gives you time to do that in 1 second. Dodge rolling without casting a skill first is wasteful of your time. You can also briefly sprint or block, for that matter. It depends on your build and class.

You go through defensive and attacking phases in any fight, but this is most obvious in a 1v1. If your buffs are not up, you will have to play defensively, as described, using dodge rolls, blocking and line of sight while you rebuff. Take my DK, for example. I buff with Rally, Shuffle (as needed), Hardened Armor and Cauterize. Those are a lot of things to keep up. 4 seconds is a long time in PvP. While you're doing that, you best make yourself hard to hit, for example by hiding behind an obstacle. Experienced players routinely use line-of-sight (LoS), even if they are not under pressure. When they are, then dodge rolls and blocking come into play. On my DK I often instinctively hold block on the 1H+Shield bar, while I refresh my buffs. The last thing I do is proactively Vigor, before I swap bar and go on the attack myself. If you play one of the tankier classes (warden, necro, DK) and you are fully buffed, you should subsequently withstand being attacked to a degree as you try to turn the tide and put your enemie(s) on the defensive.

Trying PVP for the first time. I've been doing a couple dozen BG's and overall its pretty fun.
I always look at my death report to see what's killing me. By far the most common reason I die is: DIzzying Swing. It far and above exceeds any other way I end up dying.
I have a "PURGE" ability on my hotbar but the problem is that the PURGE only works instantly, and offers no "protection for X" seconds. Even if PURGE worked for the next 3 seconds, it wouldn't be so bad. But what is the use of the PURGE command when i'm almost immediately on the ground. What is the right way to counter this? Thanks guys.

You might also share what class you are playing. There might be some class skills you've overlooked that will help you.

Actually my dizz swing has become so unreliable I hardly ever use it anymore. Same with Snipe.

They've nerfed both of these so hard that most of the time the attack misses and is not even worth using.
