Help choosing a Magicka character

Hi all,
Been playing this game for a while and having a blast. Currently im playing a Stamina DragonKnight build with DW/Bow. While this build serves we well for almost all solo pve content, i feel like i don't contribute enough during coop. So i have decided to make a separate character with pure magicka build. After checking out the skill i took an interest in pets and decided to go with it.

I see that both Magicka Sorc and Magicka Warden have the ability to call forth pets. But i am unable to decide between these two. Can someone help me decide which magicka build would be the best to have decent DPS so that i can clear all solo pve content while also having the ability to contribute good enough during coop.

Can’t go wrong with sorc... At least that’s what I keep hearing. If pets are your thing, I believe the ones you get as a sorc will outclass the bear as well. Outside of the bear, the other warden skills aren’t really pets. They are more “pet-themed” abilities.

I have one of each, and both work for solo pve content. And I find either one is fine for normal trials. Some folks who are better than I am at group pve content prefer Magicka Sorc over Magicka Warden. For example, see https://alcasthq.com/eso-dps-tier-list-best-damage-classes/

Having played both - for pets or pure dps sorc - for healing or dps/heal warden. The warden bear is useful solo but for anything else (and often for solo) the bear isn't optimal once you've got some other ultimates.

for pvp go magicka warden -

it will take some work. you need to do main quest to get soul assault. then psijic order to get reverse time. then you have a plethora of great skills but you must use he deflective ice shield that keeps you immune to range. and you must use deep fissure.

you will need speed so pump your rings with speed.

also put penetration on your main dps staff and resistance on your back bar.

cool! i am tending towards sorc, but i wanted to know, is it possible to queue as a healer, if needed, as a magicka sorc, with their 2 healing abilities?

Go mag necro since apparently it's the most broken op class in the game now.... best class in pvp without any questions what so ever no other class can touch it and for pve it's best dps by a mile with no other class even coming close to it.... or that's what I have been told

To be honest, im not sure if im gonna play pvp, apart from the mandatory quests and stuff. I am mostly focused on solo pve and coop. is magicka warden better in these content too?

Combat wise both can be really fun, both have hard hitting skills that are satisfying to see that they hit (sorc, procced frags, warden, deep fissure), but I prefer sorc.

We must be playing a different ESO version then. Magnecro is a disgrace right now.

magical warden is awesome for pve. combine with destro staff skill you can absolutely layout groups of enemies with all the ice blasting

is magden good for coop too? would like to contribute my part in a trials or dungeons
