People should accept the guild trader system is NOT AN ECONOMY, but a Mini Game, that a lot of people like to play for funsies.
Economy theory would dictate prices to go down when offered volume goes up. What we see is more items offered for higher prices.

Please point me in the direction of the guilds bragging about having billions please, I don't seem to have come across or be able to find such statements.

As for your examples though, you do realize that every single item on your list are things that can be crafted by pretty much anyone? It's pretty hard to create a monopoly on something every Joe can build in his own workshop or easily farm. Yeah, I am going to just snap up the 1.4 million glyphs on the market and jack the price up, and hope that all the peoples glyphs I just bought don't simply replace them again tomorrow.

I've seen it in zone chat / application information pages a few time.

I disagree with you in regards to limited resources like Hakiejo and Torte for example. Yes sure you can grind for it, but its a very small window and not all players have that time to invest or desire/ skill. I've been running IC for over a month looking for Torte recipes. Yes everything in the game can be acquired through grind. That goes without saying. The very point of an exchange is for people to acquire things that they struggle to get or desire for the right price from someone else. So your point is moot. (not being rude)

Here is just one example + some additional (Disclaimer: I am not accusing anyone in these threads of the problem merely using them to represent the notion that the idea of billionaire trading guilds is not all that far fetched.)
