Combat Influencing Passives of Races

Hello,

I would like to bring up the topic of making race choice independent of combat-influencing passives. The connection of the different races to passives like increased critical damage or weapon power in general makes it so that you hardly ever see some races again in the game, be it in PvP or in raids. I'm not talking about abilities that are related to lore, such as pickpocketing for the Khajiit, but only those that actively affect whether a race has disadvantages or advantages in combat.

What race(s) specifically are you concerned about? There are certainly some races that are underpowered, i.e., Redguard. Yet overall the races are as close to balanced as they have ever been.

They like to sell race change coins and tend not to fix passives that are not working.

Right. In the German forum, the suggestion was made to make the passives of the individual races available as a package. In addition to race, build and face, there would be an ability package to choose from. For this package ZOS can then further sell tokens. I am mainly concerned with not disadvantaging individual races in combat. Every Skyrim fan who wants to play a Nord should be able to do so without restrictions due to race passives.

From a lore point of view this could be a bit difficult to accept but not impossible. On the other hand, the idea of separate passive skills unrelated to the race has been discussed more than once. Of course, most players would support such a solution but ZOS for some reason doesn't want it to be implemented, probably it's because of money.

I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

The lore shouldn't be a problem, the racial passives in the old Elder Scrolls games were nice-to-have, but they didn't have any disadvantages in combat in the long run. TESO attracts many single players with a well-known brand behind them. This leads to the fact that many Skyrim or Oblivion fans go into it with a certain expectation and want to play their beloved Nord / Imperial / etc. from the old parts. The players who have been playing TES for decades only make up a small portion of the player base in TESO in my eyes. ZOS makes the whole game more beginner friendly. A little more freedom in the design of the character should not hurt.
They can still make money, the fact that you can choose passives regardless of race doesn't mean you can't charge money to change them back.
