Artaeum Recipes are entirely too expensive to make/buy

In relation to this well made opening post: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/465362/takeaway-broth-prices-are-too-damn-high/p1

The prices for Artaeum recipe foods are entirely unreasonable. The Mag version food you need for fishing (which is also the best max mag/health foo) is highly expensive and require perfect Roe.
Takeaway is almost twice as expensive as its clockwork, magicka, counterpart and require 5 powdered pearls!

When you measure these golden recipes in relation with others such as Clockwork or Bewitched - their prices are extremely unbalanced and disproportionately target Stamina DDs and fishermen.

I hope Zos will bring the cost of these recipes in line with the other recipes in the game.
(And not by making everything more expensive - lower how many items are needed please).

It's not Zos making it expensive, it is the madman buying these items from guildstores and zone chat for ridiculous prices.

I agree. Health is so high this patch I've just been using ghastly eye bowl (mag version of lava foot soup) as the stats are all the same minus health.

They did it a long time ago. All food has a small price tag in the eyes of the npc :)

And how do you think they should influence us so that we do not dictate high prices? Buy our goods at our price and sell for a lower price? Send company representatives to our homes for permanent residence? Make this food stand on every table in the game? They won't do any of this.
Let's be extremely precise in our use of terms.

5 pearls = 1 hour of farming = 1 craft (4 food), so roughly 10 hours of buffs. I don't see where the problem is.

Increase the drop rate of in demand ingredients. They won't do this (at least not in a public and significant way), and I have no opinion on whether they should do it, but they certainly could do it and it would lower prices if they increase supply.

I certaintly don't get 5 pearls in one hour

Quite easy actually. Simply make the raw materials much easier to obtain. For example, let them be occasionally be delivered by a provisioning hireling and/or create more farming nodes.

Not likely, but there are things they could do.

Thank goodness the anniversary event is coming up.... it's always awesome to see the 20 Clam Gall or 20 Powdered Mother of Pearl drops in those boxes.

I use the event to re-build my stockpile for the year.

Completely forgot about the rare ingredients part of that event. Looking forward to a restock for sure!

I thought about it, but since they were originally thought of as a rare thing, this will likely not happen. Getting perfect roe like seagrass will make crown shop xp scrolls and food completely useless.

Perhaps it is time that we get a fishing-skill line with hireling...

Well.. I never buy food or drinks; always made and crafted myself. However, it's those Perfect Roes and Powdered Pearls that are so damn expensive; especially after this update. Crazy price gouging going on; particularly in EU server. No way I'm dropping 30, 50k+ plus on a single roe. Greedy arse people! Ha ha. Fudge it.. hated fishing, but forced to do it now to try to filet for roes. Damn..

Ironically, the new CP passives for fishing are going to make Roe harder to get. Since you only get it from filleting white fish, the more green/blue trophy fish you catch, the less white fish you have to fillet.

(Now, if more people fish as a result, this will still increase it, but the efficiency of fishing for Roe goes down)

So, if you want perfect Roe, don't use the pickled fish bowl and don't have the CP passive that gives you more trophy fish (but do have the one that makes it go faster)

A very good point! I’m quite happy to stack my Artaeum sushi with the CP slottables and ideally a group too as I’m going for Master Angler! I still get quite a few white fish, ironically worth more than the trophy fish with the price on guild traders! But you’re absolutely right, if perfect roe is your goal, you’d want the fishing speed slottable (optional) and nothing else. :)
