Help me find master scry leads?

I'm having a real hard time getting the yellow leads. I read that chests were a source for them so I have been chest farming for hours. All last night and today I have farmed chests, but not one single lead, not even a blue lead. I find a chest, mark it on my map, then I run "routes", I have opened at least 30 chests and nothing for leads. Are bosses a better source for leads than chests? How often do you find leads in a chest?

yeah, the drop rate from chests for many of them is probably around 1-2%. You should expect to open 50-100 to just have a 50% chance of getting one.

30 is a very, very small sample size

(The only gold lead that seems to drop really often is the Void-Anomaly Crystal from nodes in Coldharbour)

Only certain zones have yellow leads in chests. Glenumbra, I think.

Deshaan has a yellow lead from safe boxes.

And the popular yellow lead, the Void Crystal Anomaly, drops from every third node in Colhdarbour, it seems.

A yellow lead (a stained glass window) drops off the dragons in northern elsweyr.

Another yellow lead drops off of harrowstorms in The Reach. (Vampire stained glass window.)

These may be easier to farm then chests.

Yes, I used Void Crystals a lot leveling up for the chest passive on alts.

I say go the green / blue grind until you reach 7 and can do void crystals.
Do purple on opportunity but don't grind for purple leads unless its something you want a lot anyway like I chased

I find the first one is enough for the treasure chest passive and stop at level 7

easiest for 2ndary chars imo is.

- go green/blue until excavation level three.
- bal foyen purples drop pretty well from savety boxes. find and scry them on sneaky thief.
- alt can excavate purples even at level three. gets you fast to 5
- void crystal goldens in coldharbour. scry on main antiquities guy.
- alt can excavate golds at level 5.


I substituted gold leads for 10x wild hunt rings for all my chars for some of those void anomaly coldharbour leads to get all chars to lvl 7 excavation and chest glow passive.
