Suggestion : Domain housing

Hi !

What I would like to suggest, is a big gomain or village, with an initial high unlock cost, in wich there would have a certain number of other buildings with a lesser unlock cost.
Each of these buildings would have their own inventory.

Like, the big zone would have a 700 max slots, some of the buildings would have 600 or 300 slots each, with their inventory.

Something like a domain or a village to reconstruct. It would be great for a guild hall or a roleplay community, and a dream for the housers.

I wholeheartedly support this idea, it would allow roleplayers to have a place to rp in that can be bigger than one mansion and would allow housers to finally have more slots.

I support this idea! It would indeed be great for guild hall or roleplayers.

Something like this can be achieved by EHT add-on and making portals and gateways to other houses.
Basically you could build outer sides of the buildings as a village in Coldharbour plot or Moonsugar meadow. Add operable doors. Right behind the door you add EHT gateway to the player house that represents the inside of that building. The house does not have to be yours! In this other house, add the gateway back at the entrance.
    Repeat with all houses.

In same way one can build a tavern with a corridor of doors, each door having a portal leading to an inn room of yours - possibilities are endless.

Yeah, but portals sometimes break the immersion or not everyone has EHT. And when you make an exterior, you can have really fast a shortage in slots.

Imagine a domain with a bigger house for the master and 10 buildings. Unlocking a building allows you to place a "building decoration" that the door can be used to go inside and decorate. This way, we could place buildings at our liking in the domain, maybe elaborate little areas like a park, a field, etc.

Except EHT doesn't exist on consoles.

True enough, though I interpreted @Ithilis ' post as inspiration for what could be added to the game that would be similar to what EHT already provides us PC players with today. My apologies if that was incorrect though.

So like your own Hollow City. It would be nice to be able to have more options with housing.

This would be awesome. I've built a village for my toons in Moonsugar Meadow now, but you hit the furnishing limit really quickly with that.

It could work similarly to Hall of The Lunar Champion, except you unlock the other areas with gold or crowns and they don't share a furnishing limit.

Ah yes, I think I kinda forgot this :( But EHT addon shows this can already be done in-game so ZOS could add it :)

Very valid points. I absolutely hate portals, like the ones in the Hall of the Lunar Champion. That is the main reason I don't use that house.

And I do not use EHT or ever plan to. I want everyone to be able to see my decorating, not just players who use a specific addon.

Avoiding EHT is one option for PC players.

Sure. Not everyone will be able to see your portals or find your open house but new names show up in EHTs open houses list every day.

So the decision to not use EHT feels more and more like a decision to deprive oneself of our most requested features for essentially no reason.

I do have reasons. I don't use it for the reason I started and also because I have no interest in it. I prefer a more traditional decorating style and don't want a lot of effects I'll never use.

Effects are a minor feature of EHT. Arguably its best and most widely used are its Community features that allow anyone from either ESO server to find and visit houses thst you choose to publicly list and for those visitors to be able to sign your guest journals so that you can actually know who came by. Personally that was the best addition to EHT of all because it has helped to expand our ability to share our homes easily beyond the normal limits of just our friends list and 5 guilds.

Fortunately it seems many are realizing that aspect of EHT and taking advantage of it. My hope is that anyone reading this who can and hasn't already will do the same.
