Shimmering Shield Crash — Related to the Ice Wall Bug?

Only since the new FoA update, on my MagDen main in BG and Cyro, absorbing a projectile with Shimmering Shield results in an immediate crash to desktop around 40% of the time. It has resulted from both enemy player and guard NPC attacks.
From a user’s perspective, it feels similar to the now patched Ice Wall crash. So I’m not sure whether the two are related, especially given that both skills can absorb projectiles.
PS: the crash also happens reliably in dungeons. In one recent Scalecaller run, I crashed 4 times due to Shimmering and had to take it off the bar.
