About Champion Points (Allocation)

Allow more flexibility when setting up CP by changing the “mage/thief/warrior point” to a regular, non-specific, point that can be used in any tree (similar to attribute points). I thought about this for the previous CP system, but believe it could apply to the 2.0 system as well. Its kinda hard to explain with text and I don’t want to sound confusing so enjoy examples.

*Above numbers are guesstimates. The ‘Tank’ ex. assumes green tree is sustain if using old cp system. ‘Farming’ ex. is more accurate to CP 2.0.


FOR SUPPORT ROLES:
I’ve read posts about fake tanks and demand for healers. By increasing the min max capability for damage dealers this may incentive completing content with support roles. Reaching for a higher damage ceiling (should) comes with a cost to survivability.

FOR NEW PLAYERS (at Low CP):
I think stacking all points into one tree allows low cp players to keep up w/ higher cp player who chose to evenly distribute points. Both would have same cp allocated to a given tree - 300, 300, 300 at 900CP vs 300, 0, 0 at 300CP. This would require lower cp players to be more aware b/c of sacrificed passives.

For PVP:
Tank builds could opt more for survivability to keep up with possible higher incoming damage. If this was CP 1.0, some combination of damage/defense/sustain would be traded. Not sure how this idea would work with 2.0 (I prefer green tree from CP1.0 and not having to slot PVE passives).

FOR CP 2.0:
Apply similar concept to passives loadout. Referring to the limit 4 each, allow X number of passives to be slotted from any tree. If I want a full gathering/craft build, or don’t care about it at all, I’d like to have the choice of substituting a passive from another tree.

The concept would be more effective in CP 1.0 system. Hopefully, some new idea can be taken away from this
