Privacy Concerns about Online Status in Guild Roster oop wait nevermind

I'm on PS4. I don't know how this is on other platforms.
When you toggle "appear offline" on your PSN account you still show up as online in the guild roster. In fact, worse than showing online, your icon in the roster turns red, indicating your hidden status. Now, I would have thought it was a technical oversight that you show online in the roster if not for it specifically indicating your hidden status. <-- nope that's incorrect
What is the reason for this? I can't for the life of me understand why someone made this decision. It's a Bad Idea.
Is Sony aware of this? Are they okay with it?
I have so many questions.

Look in the top left for a drop down in the guild roster.

Setting offline mode in guild roster shows you offline for all guilds.
So on PS4 you have to set both to be shown completely off line.
The only thing that turns you red is setting do not disturb in the roster, so sounds like you selected the wrong setting.Edited by TequilaFire on March 21, 2021 4:48PM6 -

and i got kicked from a guild for not being online for x number of days cuz i did the offline thing. so remember that, too
