It does raise the question of why there isn't a magic stave. Is resto magic damage? - My nb's running war maiden for casual content. Works well, but obviously drops some dps on woe.

The resto staff does do magic damage, so is buffed by War Maiden - but... Resto staff doesn't have any passives to increase damage, and destruction staff, dual-wield, and 2-hander passives are more impactful than the extra damage your resto staff light attacks get from war maidens. Dual wield and 2 hander now potentially scale with spell damage, but not from the bonus war maiden magic damage. War maiden is still a good set if you do mostly magic damage, it's like a more consistent but less good siroria.

Thanks that's helpful. I only use WM for tooling around overland - I tested it with his group dps set up and it was a noticeable drop because of all the non magic damage you end up with. Overland though I run a funky little spell sword build (he's dressed up like a samurai, wields a katana and uses stuff like concealed wpn, impale, lotus fan, stealth and mass hysteria). It's a lot of fun, but if Im taking on a WB he needs the backbar. I think that's currently an inferno staff but I was pondering putting a resto there for a bit more survivability. If WM buffs that... hmmm Illl try it out. got one somewhere I think
