Dark Anchors - Dynamic Semi-Regional Events

Zenimax should turn Dark Anchors into dynamic semi-regional events, such as Daedra pouring out of them and attacking settlements, roadways and cities in the local area. This would happen the longer a Dark Anchor is left inactive, the more powerful it becomes. Extra Daedra will begin spawning nearby, and the world would begin slowly transforming due to the melding of Nirn and Coldharbour. This would make Dark Anchors feel more epic and threatening as a semi-regional threat than simply clearing them out and rinse and repeat.

Thoughts?

An intriguing idea, Thought well put in. The Planemeld story and Anchor system is bit out-dated and should be perhaps revamped and maybe once they were a much greater threat, however it will possibly upset a lot of players seeing quest hubs being swarmed. Idea behind more powerful Anchor is excellent , I am tired of seeing hundred players doing basically nothing and farming the oblivion from them. Deadric forces are now toys for Faction forces ,they are basically useless. I believe once in Vanilla Anchor difficulty was sufficient but today they are laughable.

I am with ESO if they want to make them far more dangerous and also less occurring, they are farming them non stop to the point sometimes I would get insane performance.

It saddens me to see old content basically became a mockery and playground farm fest which is not aimed for story and overall quality, but only to Anchors or some things related. Original content will always have a special place for me.

It makes no sense to see Random Anchor to be solo-able and much more easier than Solo Arena for instance. Or maybe ESO does not want to ruin "old feeling" Leave it as they are.

I am with you though, if there is one I would change on landscape that would be Anchors in Vanilla regions ,beefing up World bosses significantly and revamping any group content in spirit of Craglorn era pre Tamriel Unlimited and actually removing some of the silly one shoot mechanic and making solo places and arenas more suitable for casual playstyle.

Because what we have here is completely contradictory, you cannot have Anchor event that is much easier to tackle than "Solo Arena.

Yes! And as new daedric lords become the focus of expansions the anchors can shift to their brand of creatures.

Each daedric lord should have 1-2 sets of equipment only available in their realms, off their boss minions, or as rewards for quests for them.

Make the end mob that spawns a legit boss mob. Have those weird daedric portal things spawn way more.

Creatures nearby become corrupted and gain new effects.

Things like deer, guar, etc also become infested and hostile.

When all 3 anchors are active in a zone, it becomes a plane meld. Cities shut down, quest hubs shut down and everyone must work together to slay the daedra.

I like this idea, throw in a zone set piece in purple for a reward to get the new players hooked on doing them. Also a great source of fighters guild xp.

Interesting idea! Maybe not for the Dark Anchors, but for the dolmens from future chapters.

Great idea. Currently it’s either solo dolmen or a mad crush of 100s of players. Having an event that requires a bit more collaboration, throw in some achievements and loot boxes - and maybe a bard playing music on the side to cheer on as we fight. Perfect!

I like to see a combination lock system added to them, depending on how you close the pinions can summon a greater powerful foe to face off against. This should only occur if you leave up all 4 until the very end when no more mobs are spawning, closing them early and it disables this feature.

Maybe the new years storyline will have invasions like that here or there in a dlc.

Agreed, adding a zone set piece would be a great incentive.

This sounds similar to what Guild Wars 2 does and something I wish ESO would explore.
