I would be happy with CP 2.0 if...

Some people love CP 2.0, some others hate it, but I would guess that most people are somewhere in-between. Like me. I think that CP 2.0 could be great, if it was tweaked a bit. Please write your three most burning issues which implementation would make you happy with CP 2.0. My three cents are as follows:

1) Make all green stars passive,
2) Turn green slots into violet, which could be used for stars from any constallation,
3) Make one pool of CPs only, which could be distributed freely to any stars in any constallation.

    1) Yes, more of the green constellation absolutely should be passives!

    2) I would also like to see the green constellation redesigned so that perks are NOT locked behind unrelated expensive prerequisites (especially expensive slotted prerequisites — that is the worst to have to waste a lot of points in something you’re not even going to use because you’re limited to four slots)!

    3) A single pool of CP sounds good to me, most versatile and allowing characters to specialize and max vertical progression for a particular role sooner, but with this having been a fundamental part of CP for so long, I am not expected this to change.

    1. Fine I guess. But I really don't need anything related to theft or fishing anymore tbh.
    2. It would kill the balance they were aiming for and make everyone over powered again. So nah.
    3. I'd be fine with this sin e it only effects the passive stuff that you end up getting eventually anyway.

My only real wish is the ability to set templates. So I can switch my slotted skills from pvp set up to a dungeon set up, or farming resource nodes to fishing, or tanking to healing at the touch of a button. Surely it wouldnt be that hard to let us save and name a few templates of how we want our active skills set.

I suggested both 1 and 3 on the PTS thread. I am indifferent to number 2. It would make all of us a bit more powerful than we are right now, but I dont really see a balance issue. My concern is that even though I oppose the green tree slottables currently, I do see the potential of that being expanded and reasonably requiring slots in the future. There are things in the green tree right now that potentially impact combat, I would be fine for those to remain slottable. But things like master gatherer or the fishing passives absolutely should not be.

Number 3 was initially appealing to me because I thought it might limit the impact of moving the cap so far all at once. It would take far fewer CP to min/max combat if you could spend them however you wanted.

If it were me in charge, I would have only moved the CP cap to say 12-1500 on patch day, and simultaneously changed to the new CP curve. I would have then been very clear to the playerbase about how often and by how much they planned to raise the cap until hitting 3600. As long as it was laid out with the new curve, I think they could have got to 3600 within a few years with some big moves each DLC.

I think this would have mitigated a lot of complaints. Its very easy to gain CP now. I am up 60 in a week, and other than 5-6 laps of skyreach to specifically level an alt, I have not done any straight grinding (i have been more aggressive than usual with Random Normals, but that is more about transmute than CP).

Only other thing for me would be QOL with better loadouts, and maybe even an account wide default if you choose to use it. I basically have 4 specs currently. My crafter, My PVP character, Stam DPS, Mag DPS. I havent gotten around to updating my Tank and Healer since patch. It would be nice to be able to spend the new points I earned on say Mag DPS and have it apply to all. There are addons to do that, but they are definitely a work in progress.

In the meantime, I would also remove the cooldown on the green tree for changing the slottable passives. I dont mind them in the blue and red tree because it cuts down on the micro managing you are expected to do between pulls in raids.

1: Most of the green stars should be passives. All the incidental nodes like two furnishing plans, repairs, etc.
2: Change the sta/mag "on kill" to "on helped kill" for groupplay.
3: The 33% chance to not consume soulgem should be 100%, and the soul skillline should change the once per hour/two hours to 50% chance not to consume and 100% not to consume a soulgem. This way we do not have to use soulgems anymore, except for powering our weapon enchant. Rezzing already takes time, so there is no reason to have a soulgem cost. (Might even reduce serverload with all players no longer capturing souls constantly)

Other than that I am fine with the new CP system, I actually really like it!

    1. Yes
    2. I would do 6 red/ 6 blue instead.
    3. Rather than this, id like to see star pathing removed so we don't need to spend points in things we don't actually use to get things we do. This system allows for less customization not more.

Really liking the idea of a violet bar with maybe two slots where you can either have a red or a blue star slotted.

And I want layouts for my CPs. It’s sooooo complicated on console to maneuver over it, the UI is not very console friendly.

Honestly i find soulgems to be a pointless nod to previous TES games. They are fine for single player games but they are just a PITA in ESO. Soul gems add nothing of value to the game in their current state. They are not restrictive or rare. There is no reason to acquire them as you get more than enough in normal gameplay. They should just be turned into a novelty trash item at this point.

    my only complaint:
i should not be forced to slot anything, if i click it then it should become a passive.

Having labels so we don't have to hoover over the star to see what is is would be nice. Other than that so far I am happy with it. The green line has given us choices we didn't have before. Taking a quick few seconds to change things out so far hasn't annoyed me.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Also, the repair one should be a slottable, since nobody is going to slot it anyway. I feel like the furnishing one should be slottable too. I picked 4 stars I wanted to use for each character and I'm set for now. But having a couple more of the green stars be passives would be very nice.

When you say "move the CP curve" do you mean to where the cap would be? Because that would mean more EXP to get to the same level of CP than it is now.

I think green should follow a more clear pattern, like blue does right now. Blue has 4 distinct corners (healing, defense, offense and flavoured offense), so I think green's corners should be these:
    • money making
    • exploration
    • resources

Money Making includes all CP directly related to money and gold cost.
Exploration includes all CP related to movement and riding.
Resources/Utility includes all CP related to potions, poisons, soulgems and food.

The overlap of Money Making and Exploration is stealth and justice related.
The overlap of Money Making and Resources is crafting, gathering and fishing related.

That way each playstyle supported by CP is easily accessible right from the start and you aren't forced to pick up something you don't like just to get to the things you do like, and if you are, then it will at least be somewhat beneficial to what you are trying to do or be vaguely related.

Once that is done a few slottables should be made permanent. 19 slottables feels lackluster, especially if some of these cost 75CP and are chained up to other slottables (like the fishing ones being behind Liquid Efficiency or Meticulous Disassembly and Home Maker, being 75 CP each and completely unrelated to fishing). In red and blue you will only find slottable chains related to the same thing.

i think not assigning champ points to their specific area would only defeat the purpose of adding more levels into the game. 800 levels of stuff u want out of 3600 total points. there wouldnt be a need to level, besides bragging rights. which basicly would revert 2.0 into 1.0 where u got everything you needed by 600/800. and could level beyond for bragging rights.

Yes, but the person I was quoting was suggesting that none of the green stars should be slottable, and I feel like there should be at least *some* choice we have to make.

Not "all"... I said "Most". And "all" incidental nodes. Big difference!
